Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Executive (BDE) Intern who is eager to learn and develop expertise in international sales, lead generation, client communication, proposal writing, and sales process management.
During the internship, the selected candidate will gain hands-on experience working on freelance platforms such as Upwork and other lead-generation channels. The role offers practical exposure to the complete sales lifecycle, from lead identification and client communication to project onboarding.
Weekly and monthly performance targets will be assigned to help candidates develop a results-driven mindset and prepare for a successful career in business development.
High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time Business Development Executive position upon successful completion of the internship.
Work Schedule & Flexibility
- Standard working hours: 10:30 AM – 8:00 PM IST.
- The role may require flexibility based on client meetings and business requirements.
- After 6:30PM, Work-from-home flexibility is subject to business requirements, scheduled meetings, and reporting manager approval.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and generate qualified leads through Upwork, freelance marketplaces, referrals, and other business development channels.
- Review project opportunities, analyze client requirements, and prepare tailored proposals to maximize conversion opportunities.
- Attend client meetings, discovery calls, and requirement-gathering sessions to understand project objectives, business goals, and expectations.
- Prepare detailed requirement briefs, Minutes of Meeting (MoM), Scope of Work (SOW) documents, project estimates, timelines, and solution summaries in coordination with internal teams.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Delivery Managers, Designers, and Development teams to define project scope, effort estimates, budgets, and delivery timelines.
- Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, including lead qualification, proposal submission, client follow-ups, negotiations, approvals, and contract closure.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, proposals, client interactions, and sales activities within CRM and tracking systems.
- Coordinate and schedule client meetings, follow-up discussions, and project onboarding activities to ensure seamless communication.
- Support the preparation of commercial proposals, quotations, presentations, and client-facing documentation.
- Facilitate the smooth handover of signed projects to delivery teams by ensuring all project documentation and client requirements are properly transferred.
- Coordinate invoicing activities, milestone billing, recurring payment communications, and payment follow-ups when required.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Identify account growth opportunities, including upselling, cross-selling, and Change Requests (CRs), and coordinate with internal stakeholders for approvals and execution.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging business opportunities and industry trends.
- Prepare regular reports on lead generation, sales activities, proposal performance, pipeline status, and business development outcomes.
- Ensure a seamless client experience from initial lead generation through project onboarding, delivery coordination, and account expansion
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (completed or currently pursuing).
- Strong interest in Business Development, IT Sales, Client Acquisition, or International Sales.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of Upwork or other freelance platforms is preferred.
- Ability to understand client requirements and respond professionally.
- Strong learning attitude, self-motivation, and proactive approach.
- Comfortable communicating with international clients and working across different time zones.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM tools is an advantage.

Full-Time Conversion Opportunity
Upon successful completion of the 3-month internship, candidates may be offered a full-time Business Development Executive role with a salary package ranging from ₹40,000 to ₹50,000 per month, based on internship performance, demonstrated skills, and business requirements.
