Responsibilities:
The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing:

Serve as the lead structural designer on large, complex, and multidisciplinary projects, coordinating design activities with global project teams.

Develop, review, and oversee highly complex steel, reinforced concrete, and industrial structures, ensuring compliance with project specifications, BIM requirements, and industry standards.

Independently plan, execute, and manage structural modeling and drafting activities, including advanced 3D models and detailed construction documentation.

Perform quality reviews of models, drawings, and deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, constructability, and adherence to company standards.

Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other discipline leads to resolve design conflicts, identify interferences, and implement effective design solutions.

Establish modeling and drafting workflows, standards, and best practices to improve project execution and deliverable quality.

Analyze engineering sketches, calculations, specifications, and design criteria to determine the most efficient approach for model and drawing development.

Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and formal training to Designers and junior team members, fostering skill development and continuous improvement.

Participate in project planning activities, including scope definition, effort estimates, scheduling, and resource coordination.

Support project managers and engineering leads by monitoring design progress, identifying risks, and recommending corrective actions to maintain project objectives.

Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions, support field engineering activities, resolve construction issues, and validate design assumptions.

Lead interdisciplinary model reviews and clash detection activities, ensuring timely resolution of coordination issues.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to design technology, BIM processes, productivity tools, and department standards.

Represent the design team during client meetings, internal reviews, and coordination discussions as required.

May travel to project sites, client locations, or other SSOE offices to support project execution, collaboration, training, and business objectives.
Qualifications:
What You Will Bring:

Diploma in Civil Engineering. Diploma or bachelor’s degree tracked in CAD/BIM Design Technology or related field preferred.

Possess minimum 15 years of experience as a Designer or in modeling and drafting steel and concrete structures of significant complexity utilizing both AutoCAD and Revit Structure software.

Strong English communication skills with the ability to coordinate with the global teams and facilitate a professional relationship.

Good working knowledge of Model Building Codes as well as AISC & ACI Material Codes and other referenced standards.

Ability to fully utilize and leverage CAD/BIM software including AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, MicroStation, and Navisworks is essential.

Knowledge of having interoperability between two or more software is preferred. For example, Revit to Risa and vice versa etc.

Should be flexible to work in the evening hours to maintain the communication with the USA teams.

Must demonstrate some working knowledge of industrial and commercial buildings and ability to execute related designs.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
