What are we looking for?

The Regional Head (AVP) is responsible for driving business growth, profitability, manpower productivity, and customer experience across the assigned region. The role involves leading a large sales team through frontline and middle-management layers, ensuring achievement of sales targets, strengthening distribution, enhancing employee engagement, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.

The incumbent will work closely with business leaders, cross-functional teams, and HR to build a high-performing and sustainable sales team while delivering superior business outcomes.

What does the job entail?

Business Delivery

Drive region-wise revenue, premium, and productivity targets.

Ensure achievement of sales, persistency, activation, and profitability goals.

Monitor regional performance and implement corrective actions to address business gaps.

Develop and execute region-specific business strategies and growth plans.

Team Leadership & People Management

Lead, coach, and mentor Cluster Heads, Area Heads, and frontline teams.

Build a high-performance culture through regular reviews, capability-building initiatives, and recognition programs.

Ensure optimum manpower availability and productivity across locations.

Drive succession planning and talent development for critical roles.

Distribution & Channel Management

Expand and strengthen distribution networks within the assigned region.

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners.

Identify new business opportunities and enhance market penetration.

Performance Governance

Conduct regular business reviews with regional and cluster teams.

Analyze key performance metrics and drive action plans to improve productivity.

Ensure adherence to operational processes and service standards.

Monitor recruitment, onboarding, retention, and attrition trends.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

Drive superior customer experience and service delivery.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders including HR, Operations, Marketing, Sales Training, and Compliance.

Address escalations and ensure timely resolution of customer and employee concerns.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure adherence to regulatory, internal audit, and compliance requirements.

Promote ethical business practices and governance standards.

Monitor risk indicators and implement preventiveactions.

Work Experience

10-15+ years of experience in Sales, Distribution, or Business Management roles.

Essential Qualification

Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
Postgraduate qualification/MBA preferred.
10-15+ years of experience in Sales, Distribution, or Business Management roles.
Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience managing large and geographically dispersed teams.
Strong understanding of insurance, financial services, banking, or related industries.
Proven track record of consistently delivering business targets.
