Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and confident Business Development Executive (IT – Sales) to promote and generate business opportunities for our software development products and IT solutions.
The role involves identifying potential businesses, understanding their business and technology requirements, introducing suitable software solutions, generating qualified leads, arranging meetings with the technical team, and following up with prospects until handover.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable communicating with business owners and decision-makers, conducting field visits, understanding business problems, and explaining software development products, websites, web applications, automation solutions, and custom software services in a simple and professional manner.
Key ResponsibilitiesIT Business Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and approach potential businesses that may require software development products and IT solutions.
- Generate leads through field visits, cold calling, online research, referrals, and other appropriate channels.
- Visit businesses in and around Coimbatore to understand their business operations and technology requirements.
- Interact with business owners, managers, and decision-makers to identify their software and digital needs.
- Introduce and explain the company's software products, websites, web applications, automation solutions, and custom software development services.
- Understand customer requirements and identify suitable technology solutions.
- Qualify prospects based on their business requirements, budget, urgency, and potential.
- Maintain accurate lead and customer information.
- Follow up regularly with interested prospects.
- Arrange meetings or discussions between qualified prospects and the technical/development team.
- Coordinate with the technical team to ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated.
- Support the lead from initial contact through the sales and development handover process.
Field Sales & Customer Interaction
- Conduct regular field visits to meet prospective customers.
- Build professional relationships with business owners and decision-makers.
- Understand existing business processes and identify areas where software can improve efficiency.
- Explain technical solutions in a simple, business-friendly manner.
- Collect business information, requirements, and feedback during customer interactions.
- Identify opportunities for customized software development based on customer needs.
Software Product Promotion
- Promote the company's IT products and software development solutions to potential customers.
- Understand product features, benefits, use cases, and target customer segments.
- Demonstrate the business value of software solutions to prospective customers.
- Identify industries and business segments where the company's software products can provide value.
- Collect customer feedback and communicate product requirements or improvement suggestions to the internal team.
Market & Competitor Research
- Research local businesses and identify potential customers for IT solutions.
- Study market requirements, customer pain points, and technology adoption.
- Identify new business opportunities for software products and development services.
- Monitor competitor offerings and market trends.
- Maintain a database of potential customers and business opportunities.
Follow-up & Reporting
- Maintain daily and weekly lead-generation and follow-up records.
- Update CRM or lead-tracking systems regularly.
- Track prospect status from initial contact to qualified lead and handover.
- Prepare regular reports on field visits, calls, leads, meetings, and opportunities.
- Ensure timely follow-up with potential customers.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Any Bachelor's Degree.
- Candidates from Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, Management, Computer Applications, Information Technology, or related fields are preferred.
- Freshers with strong communication skills and an interest in IT sales can apply.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Confident in speaking with business owners, managers, and decision-makers.
- Strong interest in software products, IT solutions, and technology sales.
- Willingness to travel locally for customer and field visits.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and business problems.
- Ability to explain software and technical solutions in simple language.
- Basic knowledge of websites, software applications, web applications, automation, or IT services.
- Good negotiation, presentation, and follow-up skills.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Self-motivated, target-oriented, and willing to take initiative.
Good to Have
- Previous experience in IT sales, software sales, business development, field sales, or B2B sales.
- Knowledge of software development services.
- Familiarity with CRM or lead-management systems.
- Basic knowledge of digital marketing and social media.
- Experience in cold calling and customer acquisition.
