Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Scheduling
Develop detailed project schedules in Microsoft Project (MSP), including the Work Breakdown Structure, activity sequencing, durations, dependencies and milestones.
Prepare and maintain the master construction programme and baseline schedule for each project, in line with the contract and BOQ.
Establish and track the critical path, identify float, and highlight activities that drive the completion date.
Prepare resource loaded schedules covering manpower, material and machinery requirements against the programme.
Break the master schedule into weekly and monthly look ahead plans for the site teams.
Execution Oversight
Coordinate with site engineers and execution teams to ensure work on the ground follows the approved plan and sequence.
Monitor day to day execution against the schedule and flag any slippage, bottleneck or resource gap at the earliest.
Support the site team in prioritising activities so that critical path and milestone dates are protected.
Review whether material indents, procurement and manpower deployment are timed correctly to keep the programme on track.
Progress Monitoring and Reporting
Track physical and financial progress against the baseline and update the MSP schedule with actual progress at agreed intervals.
Prepare S curves, earned value metrics and progress dashboards that clearly show planned versus actual status.
Produce daily, weekly and monthly progress reports for management and for client review.
Forecast completion dates, quantify the impact of delays, and propose practical recovery and catch up plans.
Maintain proper planning records, revised programmes and delay documentation to support the firm on government contracts.
Coordination and Documentation
Act as the planning link between site, procurement, billing and management, keeping all parties aligned on schedule status.
Support progress meetings and client reviews with UP Jal Nigam and other government departments through accurate schedule data.
Assist in preparing extension of time and delay justification documentation with programme evidence where required.
Required Skills and Competencies
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Project (MSP) for scheduling, baselining, tracking and reporting (essential).
Strong working knowledge of the Critical Path Method (CPM) and standard planning and scheduling techniques.
Ability to read and interpret BOQ, working drawings, GFC drawings and technical specifications.
Sound understanding of civil construction methods, sequencing and site execution realities.
Strong command of MS Excel for progress reports, S curves and data analysis.
Familiarity with government project execution norms such as CPWD and PWD practices is a strong advantage.
Good analytical, problem solving, coordination and communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience
B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering, or a Diploma in Civil Engineering with relevant planning experience.
Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably on government, infrastructure, heritage or museum projects.
Demonstrable, hands on experience of running projects on Microsoft Project (MSP) is mandatory.
Prior experience of coordinating with government clients and preparing progress documentation will be preferred.- Fluency in English and Hindi (written and spoken)
