Job Summary
The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records and accounting operations of Mountain Infra Building OPC Pvt. Ltd. The role ensures accurate bookkeeping, compliance with statutory regulations, project-wise accounting, tax filings, payroll processing, and financial reporting. The Accountant supports the management in maintaining financial discipline and ensuring smooth financial operations for construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting
- Maintain books of accounts in accordance with accounting standards.
- Record daily financial transactions, including receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash books, and ledger accounts.
2. Construction Project Accounting
- Maintain project-wise cost records for each construction site.
- Monitor labour costs, material purchases, subcontractor payments, and equipment expenses.
- Track project budgets and compare actual costs with estimated costs.
- Prepare project profitability and cost analysis reports.
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and supplier payments.
- Maintain customer billing and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Verify bills submitted by contractors and subcontractors.
- Ensure timely payment of all operational expenses.
4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and file GST returns accurately and on time.
- Deduct and deposit TDS as per Income Tax regulations.
- Assist in Income Tax return preparation.
- Maintain statutory records and ensure compliance with government regulations.
5. Payroll Management
- Prepare monthly salary sheets.
- Calculate statutory deductions including PF, ESI, TDS, and Professional Tax (where applicable).
- Process employee reimbursements and maintain payroll records.
6. Budgeting & Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets.
- Generate monthly MIS reports for management.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow statements.
- Support financial planning and forecasting.
7. Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain records of construction materials and equipment.
- Verify stock records and reconcile inventory.
- Maintain fixed asset register and calculate depreciation.
8. Audit Support
- Assist internal and statutory auditors.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents.
- Ensure all financial records are audit-ready.
9. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain invoices, purchase orders, contracts, payment vouchers, and financial documents.
- Ensure proper filing and secure storage of financial records.
- Maintain digital and physical accounting records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Finance, or Accounting.
- M.Com, CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, and ESI compliance.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP/Tally Prime.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Experience in project-wise accounting and cost accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities Specific to a Construction Company
- Maintain project-wise accounting records.
