About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated Lead Software Engineer (Backend) to design and build scalable and high-performance backend services that power mission-critical applications. You will play a key role in designing distributed systems, driving engineering excellence, mentoring team members, and delivering reliable software at scale.
The ideal candidate is passionate about backend architecture, enjoys solving complex distributed systems challenges, and has strong hands-on expertise in Java and modern backend technologies.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, and maintain highly available, scalable backend services and distributed systems.
Architect and implement RESTful APIs and microservices that are secure, performant, and reliable.
Drive technical design discussions and influence architectural decisions across teams.
Build resilient systems capable of handling large-scale traffic and data volumes.
Develop solutions leveraging MongoDB, Kafka, Redis, and related backend technologies.
Debug and resolve complex production issues across distributed environments.
Improve system reliability, observability, performance, and operational excellence.
Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, QA, SRE, and Security teams to deliver highquality solutions.
Conduct code reviews and champion engineering best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture.
Participate in on-call rotations and drive root cause analysis for critical incidents.
Contribute to technical roadmaps and long-term platform evolution.
What makes you qualified?
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5-7 years of hands-on software development experience.
Strong programming skills in Java with deep understanding of core concepts, memory management, concurrency, and performance tuning.
Extensive experience building distributed systems and backend applications.
