FLOOR MANAGER — i'Deli Cafe

Lead the Floor. Inspire the Team. Deliver an Exceptional Guest Experience.

We are opening a new i'Deli Cafe outlet in Kakkanad, Kochi, and are looking for an experienced and energetic Floor Manager to lead our front-of-house team, ensure smooth floor operations, and deliver the warm, efficient, and premium guest experience that defines the i'Deli brand.

The role requires strong floor leadership, excellent guest-handling skills, team coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and effective during busy service periods.

Floor Operations

Take responsibility for the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant floor during assigned shifts.
Ensure tables, service areas, counters, and guest spaces are maintained to the required standards.
Monitor guest flow, table availability, seating, order processing, and service movement.
Coordinate effectively with the kitchen, service, cashier, and support teams.
Ensure smooth opening, shift handover, and closing procedures.
Remain actively present on the floor throughout service.

Team Leadership

Supervise and coordinate service staff during each shift.
Allocate duties and responsibilities according to business requirements.
Brief the team before each shift on reservations, promotions, special requirements, and operational priorities.
Monitor staff performance, grooming, discipline, and professionalism.
Motivate team members and maintain a positive and productive working environment.
Support the Restaurant Manager in training and developing service staff.

Guest Experience

Ensure every guest receives warm, attentive, and professional service.
Welcome guests and assist with seating and service requirements when necessary.
Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their visit.
Respond promptly to guest requests and service concerns.
Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate serious issues to the Restaurant Manager.
Build positive relationships with regular guests and maintain the standards expected from i'Deli Cafe.

Service Excellence

Monitor service speed, accuracy, presentation, and overall guest experience.
Ensure orders are communicated accurately between service and kitchen teams.
Monitor table clearing, resetting, and service readiness.
Identify service delays and take immediate corrective action.
Ensure staff follow established service standards and SOPs.
Maintain high standards during peak operating hours.

Sales & Upselling

Support the team in achieving daily and monthly sales targets.
Encourage appropriate upselling and cross-selling of food and beverage items.
Ensure team members have strong product knowledge.
Promote special offers, new products, and promotional campaigns.
Monitor guest preferences and identify opportunities to improve sales and guest engagement.

Staff Training & Development

Train team members on service standards, guest interaction, product knowledge, grooming, and upselling.
Coach employees during live service and provide constructive feedback.
Identify training and performance gaps and report them to the Restaurant Manager.
Support new employee induction and on-the-job training.
Lead by example in service quality and professional behaviour.

Quality, Hygiene & Grooming

Ensure all front-of-house areas are clean, organised, and presentable.
Monitor employee grooming and personal hygiene standards.
Ensure service staff follow food-safety and hygiene requirements.
Conduct regular checks of guest areas, service stations, menus, tables, and other visible areas.
Report maintenance, cleanliness, or quality issues promptly.

Cash & Order Coordination

Support accurate order processing and coordination with the cashier team.
Monitor billing and payment processes when required.
Assist in resolving billing or order-related guest concerns.
Ensure proper shift handovers and communication regarding outstanding issues.

Inventory & Operational Support

Monitor availability of service items, packaging, cutlery, crockery, menus, and other front-of-house requirements.
Report shortages or operational requirements to the Restaurant Manager.
Support stock movement and proper utilisation of service materials.
Minimise wastage and ensure responsible use of restaurant resources.

Shift Management

Conduct pre-shift team briefings.
Allocate staff according to expected business volume.
Monitor manpower deployment throughout the shift.
Coordinate breaks without affecting service levels.
