Job location: Balangir, Odisha

About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Area Business Manager (ABM) to join our team in Balangir, Odisha. The ABM will lead sales for Sun King EX Grid-Tied Inverters and Rooftop Solar (RTS) solutions under PM Surya Ghar Yojana and will work on engaging customers effectively to run overall sales in the Balangir territory.

What you will be expected to do

Drive sales of Sun King EX grid-tied inverters and roof top solar systems.
Build funnel through EPCs, EO (Energy Officers), banks, partners, and direct consumers.
Achieve sales targets by successfully mentoring a field sales team of energy officers.
Conduct customer meets, demos, and partner activations.
Ensure complete documentation, KYC, and subsidy compliance.
Oversee installation coordination and payment collections.
Monitor customer experience and conduct field audits.
Ensure complete adoption of CRM and tech tools to manage the sales process through software tools used in Sun King.

You might be a strong candidate if you have/are

A bachelor's degree in any field, technical background preferred.
2+ years of experience in direct to customer (D2C) sales.
Sales experience in solar rooftop (RTS) or microfinance (MFI).
Understanding of grid-tied systems, net metering and RTS processes.
Good communication and negotiation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and mobile apps.
Language proficiency of English, Odiya and Hindi.
Comfortable with extensive field travel.
Must be based out of, or willing to relocate to Balangir, Odisha.

Instead of paying for expensive, polluting, and health-damaging kerosene for lighting or diesel for power, customers unlock savings through accessing solar power and after one to two years of payments, customers own their solar equipment outright.

Sun King collects payments digitally through mobile money systems and its 35,000 field agents — over 1 million payments each day. To date, Sun King has extended more than $1.4 billion in PAYG loans to customers.

Sun King began by powering homes and businesses with solar systems delivered through PAYG financing.
