Job Description – Business Development Engineer

About Company

Urja Infratech & Power Projects India Pvt. Ltd. is a licensed electrical contractor and consultant based in Mumbai, providing turnkey electrical solutions across India. The company undertakes electrical projects for power, industrial, infrastructure, and commercial sectors.

Designation: - Business Development Engineer – Electrical

Experience: - 1–3 Years

Qualification: - BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics/E&TC Engineering
MBA in Marketing will be an added advantage.

Location: - Mumbai

Salary: - As per industry standards

Job Purpose

The Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with clients and consultants, generating leads, and supporting the company in acquiring new electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities in electrical, infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and power projects.
Generate leads through market research, networking, references, client meetings, and industry contacts.
Identify upcoming electrical projects and potential clients, consultants, contractors, and developers.
Visit clients, consultants, project sites, and offices to understand project requirements and develop business relationships.
Maintain and regularly update the client and project database.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Coordinate with the Project, Estimation, Procurement, and Management teams for project requirements and proposals.
Understand client requirements and communicate them effectively to the internal technical team.
Follow up with clients regarding enquiries, quotations, proposals, tenders, and project opportunities.
Assist in preparing and submitting technical and commercial proposals in coordination with the concerned team.
Track enquiries and opportunities from initial contact to order finalization.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and upcoming projects.
Attend client meetings, business meetings, exhibitions, and industry events as required.
Follow up regularly with clients and consultants for new requirements and business opportunities.
Prepare weekly/monthly business development reports and update management on leads, enquiries, and opportunities.
Achieve assigned business development and lead-generation targets.

Required Skills

Good understanding of electrical projects, products, and services.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Good negotiation and follow-up skills.
Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
Proficiency in MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Good presentation and client-handling skills.
Willingness to travel for client meetings and project visits.
Positive, confident, and target-oriented approach.

Preferred Candidate Profile

BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics/E&TC Engineering
1–3 years of experience in Business Development / Sales / Marketing in the electrical, EPC, infrastructure, manufacturing or construction industry.
Candidates with knowledge of electrical projects will be preferred.
Candidates with existing contacts with clients, consultants, contractors, developers, or project companies will be an advantage.
Should be comfortable with frequent client visits and business development activities.
