Job Summary

L3 Oracle DBA – Job Description Position Summary The L3 Oracle DBA serves as an advanced technical escalation point for Oracle database platforms. The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, resilience, and lifecycle management of Oracle database environments. The L3 DBA leads complex troubleshooting activities, drives automation initiatives, and provides expert support for critical production incidents and escalations. Key Responsibilities Oracle Database Administration  Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Database environments (10g, 11g, 12c, 19c, and newer versions).  Manage Oracle databases across development, test, UAT, DR, and production environments.  Perform database creation, cloning, migration, refresh, and decommissioning activities. High Availability & Disaster Recovery  Design, implement, and support: o Recovery Manager (RMAN) o Networker - is a plus  Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery procedures.  Ensure compliance with RTO and RPO requirements. Performance Tuning & Optimization  Investigate and resolve complex database performance issues.  Analyze AWR, ASH, Statspack, ADDM, and SQL Trace reports.  Optimize: o SQL queries o Database parameters o Memory allocation (SGA/PGA) o Storage utilization o Indexing strategies  Conduct capacity planning and performance forecasting. Backup, Recovery & Data Protection  Configure and manage RMAN backup and recovery solutions.  Perform database recovery during incidents and disaster recovery exercises.  Validate backup integrity through regular restore testing.  Ensure backup compliance and retention policies are met. Security & Compliance  Implement database security best practices.  Manage: o Users, roles, and privileges o Database auditing o Oracle Wallet  Support regulatory and compliance audits. Incident and Problem Management  Act as the L3 escalation point for critical production incidents.  Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions.  Work closely with vendors and Oracle Support to resolve complex issues.  Participate in major incident management and on-call rotations. Database Automation  Develop automation solutions using: o Shell scripting o Python o Ansible o OEM automation tools  Automate operational tasks, monitoring, patching, and health checks. Patching, Upgrades & Lifecycle Management  Plan and execute: o Oracle PSU/RU patching o Database upgrades and migrations  Maintain database currency and security compliance. Monitoring & Capacity Management  Monitor database health and availability using: o Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) o Other enterprise monitoring tools  Proactively identify performance risks and capacity constraints. Cloud & Modernization  Support Oracle databases on: o AWS  Participate in cloud migration and database modernization projects.  Manage hybrid database architectures. Technical Leadership  Provide technical guidance and mentorship to L1 and L2 DBAs.  Develop and maintain operational standards, procedures, and runbooks.  Participate in solution architecture reviews and project implementations.  Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence. Required Qualifications Education  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.  Equivalent professional experience may be considered. Experience  8+ years of Oracle DBA experience.  5+ years supporting enterprise production environments.  Experience supporting mission-critical Oracle RAC and Data Guard environment

Key Responsibilities
1. To ensure on-time resolution & quality compliance of escalated tickets/incident as per the agreed SLA
2. To perform value addition activities (such as mentoring administrators/team members, preparing SOPs, maintaining effective documentation simultaneously and Knowledge sharing.) In addition act as a liaison to the business segment, facilitating effective communication and presentation to key business stakeholders as & when required.
3. To validate Change Order Implementation Plan & Human Error Compliance and participate in Capacity planning, identification of EN business opportunities.
4. To ensure positive customer feedback & satisfaction through active participation in customer meetings to understand any issues faced
5. To validate analyses (eg. Root Cause Analysis ,Trend Analysis) and reports to facilitate performance in tasks to be presented to key business stakeholders
