Full job description

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Senior Branch Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Thiruvananthapuram region.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in staff management, branch operations, accounts coordination, customer handling, and operational problem-solving. The person will be responsible for ensuring smooth functioning of the region and maintaining discipline, service quality, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Staff Management

Supervise and manage branch staff and delivery/pickup teams.
Allocate duties and monitor daily attendance, productivity, and performance.
Guide staff in handling operational and customer-related issues.
Maintain discipline and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Identify staff-related issues and escalate major concerns to Regional Management.

2. Branch Operations

Monitor day-to-day pickup, delivery, booking, dispatch, and transhipment activities.
Ensure consignments are processed and delivered within the prescribed TAT.
Monitor pending, undelivered, returned, misrouted, and delayed consignments.
Coordinate with other branches and offices for smooth movement of shipments.
Take immediate corrective action on operational issues.

3. Accounts & Cash Management

Monitor daily branch collections, billing, expenses, and cash handling.
Ensure timely submission of accounts and supporting documents.
Coordinate with the Accounts Department regarding outstanding payments and discrepancies.
Monitor customer billing and resolve billing-related issues.
Ensure proper maintenance of branch financial and operational records.

4. Customer & Complaint Management

Handle important customer complaints and service-related issues.
Coordinate with customers and branch teams to resolve issues promptly.
Monitor service quality and take corrective measures where required.
Ensure important customers and sensitive consignments receive appropriate attention.

5. Problem Solving & Coordination

Act as the primary point of contact for resolving branch-level operational issues.
Coordinate with Regional Management, Head Office, other branches, and service partners.
Investigate operational irregularities and submit appropriate reports.
Handle urgent situations independently and provide practical solutions.
Ensure issues are followed up until final resolution.

6. Reporting & Administration

Prepare and submit daily/weekly operational reports as required.
Monitor branch performance, revenue, expenses, pending consignments, and service quality.
Maintain proper records and documentation.
Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and administrative requirements.

Candidate Profile

Preferred Age: 40 years and above.
Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in courier, logistics, transport, branch operations, administration, or a similar field.
Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial position is preferred.
Strong ability to manage staff and handle operational pressure.
Good knowledge of accounts, billing, cash handling, and basic financial procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Ability to work independently and take responsibility for branch-level matters.
Knowledge of the local business environment in Thiruvananthapuram will be an advantage.
