About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented sales professional to drive business growth across General Trade (GT) and Modern Trade (MT) channels in Karnataka. The ideal candidate should possess strong market knowledge, distributor management experience, and the ability to build sustainable relationships with key retail partners. Candidates from FMCG, Toys, Stationery, Educational Products, Baby Care, Personal Care, Consumer Durables (Fast Moving), or similar industries are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets across Karnataka.
Drive primary and secondary sales through effective distributor management.
Expand market reach by appointing new distributors and increasing retail coverage.
Identify new business opportunities and execute market expansion plans.
Ensure optimum product availability and visibility across assigned markets.

General Trade (GT)

Manage distributor performance and profitability.
Develop retailer relationships to improve market penetration.
Execute trade schemes, promotions, and merchandising initiatives.
Monitor secondary sales, stock movement, and collection efficiency.
Increase numeric and weighted distribution across key territories.

Modern Trade (MT)

Manage relationships with regional and national modern trade chains.
Coordinate with store managers and category buyers for business growth.
Ensure product listing, availability, planogram compliance, and promotional execution.
Drive sales through in-store activations and visibility programs.
Monitor sell-out performance and inventory levels.

Channel & Distributor Management

Review distributor health, ROI, inventory, and sales performance.
Resolve distributor concerns and ensure smooth business operations.
Improve sales forecasting and inventory planning.
Ensure timely collections and adherence to company policies.

Team Management

Lead, coach, and develop Sales Officers/Sales Representatives.
Conduct regular market visits and joint working.
Review KPIs and drive execution excellence.
Build a high-performance sales culture.

Market Intelligence

Track competitor activities, pricing, promotions, and new product launches.
Provide market insights to support business strategy.
Recommend growth opportunities based on customer and market feedback.

Reporting & Compliance

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
Maintain sales forecasts and pipeline accuracy.
Ensure compliance with company sales processes and reporting standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

Graduate in any discipline.
MBA/PGDM in Sales & Marketing is preferred.

Experience

10+ years of sales experience in Karnataka.
Experience in General Trade and Modern Trade is mandatory.
Candidates from FMCG, Stationery, Toys, Educational Products, Baby Care, Consumer Goods, Personal Care, or similar industries will be preferred.
Strong distributor and channel management experience.
Experience handling Karnataka market with good retailer and distributor network.
