JOB DESCRIPTION – IT MANAGER
Position: IT Manager

Location: Sanskriti Group of Schools, Pune
Job Purpose
The IT Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, implementation, management, security, and smooth functioning of the IT infrastructure across all campuses of the Group of Schools. The role requires a hands-on professional capable of independently managing day-to-day IT operations as well as planning and executing new IT projects.
The IT Manager will serve as the primary point of responsibility for all IT-related matters, including networking, servers, CCTV surveillance systems, hardware, software, internet connectivity, cybersecurity, data backup, access control systems, IT vendors, and technology-related projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Infrastructure Management
- Manage and maintain the complete IT infrastructure across all school campuses.
- Ensure smooth functioning of desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, interactive panels, servers, routers, switches, Wi-Fi systems, and other IT equipment.
- Monitor the health and performance of IT systems and undertake preventive maintenance.
- Maintain an updated inventory of all IT assets, equipment, software licences, warranties, and AMC details.
2. Network Management
- Design, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, routers, switches, firewalls, and internet connectivity.
- Ensure reliable and secure network connectivity across all campuses.
- Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues promptly.
- Coordinate with Internet Service Providers and other vendors for uninterrupted services.
3. Server Management
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain physical and/or cloud-based servers.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights, shared drives, and data storage.
- Ensure regular data backups and periodically test data restoration and disaster recovery processes.
- Monitor server performance, security, storage capacity, and system availability.
4. CCTV and Surveillance Systems
- Manage the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring infrastructure of CCTV systems across all campuses.
- Ensure that cameras, NVRs/DVRs, storage systems, and related networking equipment remain functional.
- Maintain adequate recording and storage as per the organisation’s requirements.
- Troubleshoot CCTV-related issues and coordinate with vendors whenever required.
- Ensure authorised and secure access to CCTV footage.
5. Cybersecurity and Data Protection
- Implement and maintain appropriate cybersecurity measures, including antivirus, firewalls, access controls, password policies, and system updates.
- Protect the organisation's IT systems and data from unauthorised access, malware, data loss, and cyber threats.
- Conduct periodic security reviews and identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Promote awareness among staff regarding safe and responsible use of IT systems.
6. Daily IT Operations and Technical Support
- Ensure timely resolution of day-to-day IT issues reported by staff and departments.
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, networking, printers, email, audio-visual systems, and other technology-related requirements.
- Establish an effective system for recording, tracking, prioritising, and closing IT support requests.
- Minimise downtime and ensure timely escalation of critical IT issues.
7. IT Project Management
- Plan and execute IT projects from requirement identification to successful implementation.
- Prepare project plans, timelines, budgets, technical specifications, and implementation schedules.
- Manage projects such as network upgrades, server implementation, CCTV expansion, Wi-Fi deployment, hardware replacement, software implementation, access control, ERP/HRMS integration, and other technology initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, management, vendors, and service providers.
- Ensure projects are completed within the approved scope, timeline, and budget.
8. Vendor and AMC Management
- Identify and evaluate suitable IT vendors and service providers.
- Obtain and technically evaluate quotations and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Coordinate with vendors for installations, repairs, maintenance, upgrades, and technical support.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to agreed service levels.
- Maintain records of AMCs, warranties, licences, subscriptions, and renewal dates.
9. IT Procurement and Asset Management
- Assess IT requirements and recommend appropriate hardware, software, and technology solutions.
- Prepare technical specifications for procurement.
- Ensure proper allocation, tagging, documentation, and tracking of IT assets.
- Manage the lifecycle of IT equipment, including installation, transfer, repair, replacement, and disposal.
10. Software and Systems Management
- Manage installation, configuration, updates, and licences of operating systems and software applications.
- Coordinate technical requirements related to ERP, HRMS, attendance systems, biometric devices, school management software, email systems, and other digital platforms.
- Liaise with software vendors for troubleshooting, integrations, upgrades, and customisation requirements.
11. IT Policies, Documentation and Compliance
- Develop and implement IT policies, SOPs, and security protocols.
- Maintain proper documentation of network architecture, server configurations, passwords/access controls, IT assets, software licences, vendor details, and system configurations.
- Ensure confidentiality and responsible handling of organisational and student-related data.
- Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.
12. Multi-Campus Coordination
- Oversee IT operations across all campuses of the Group of Schools.
- Conduct periodic visits and IT infrastructure audits at different campuses.
- Standardise IT systems, processes, security practices, and documentation across locations.
- Prioritise and resolve critical IT requirements across campuses effectively.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Electronics, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications in Networking, Server Administration, Cybersecurity, Cloud Technologies, or IT Infrastructure Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and operations management.
- Prior experience in a school, educational institution, multi-location organisation, or similar environment will be preferred.
- Hands-on experience in networking, server administration, CCTV systems, hardware troubleshooting, cybersecurity, and vendor management is essential.
The IT Manager is expected to take complete ownership of the organisation’s IT ecosystem and ensure that all technology systems are secure, reliable, efficient, scalable, and aligned with the operational and strategic requirements of the Group of Schools.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
