Venture Analyst- Startup Scouting & Acquisition

VrozartX · Mohali · Full-Time · Gen-Z Role

What This Is

VrozartX is India's first AI-native venture studio. We build startups from zero to revenue-generating businesses- and we are now expanding into acquisition and portfolio building. We are looking for a sharp, hungry Gen-Z operator to own our startup scouting, deal sourcing, and acquisition pipeline.

This is not a research role. You will be in the market- talking to founders, mapping ecosystems, building relationships with accelerators and angel networks, and identifying ventures that are worth bringing into the VrozartX portfolio. You will work directly with the CEO and Chief of Staff with full visibility into every deal we look at.

If you have spent time inside an accelerator, an angel network, an early-stage fund, or a startup ecosystem and you want to be on the side that builds and acquires rather than just watches- this is the right move.

What You Will Own

Deal Sourcing and Startup Scouting

Build and maintain a live pipeline of early-stage startups across VrozartX's target sectors- AI, EdTech, FinTech, D2C, AgriTech, HealthTech, and adjacent areas
Map the Indian startup ecosystem systematically- accelerators, incubators, angel networks, pitch competitions, college entrepreneurship cells, and emerging founders in Tier 2 and 3 cities
Identify acquisition and acqui-hire targets that fit VrozartX's portfolio thesis- strong founding team, interesting technology or market position, and a profile that accelerates inside our studio
Track and analyse what other studios, accelerators, and funds are investing in and acquiring- pattern recognition is the job

Relationship Building

Build active relationships with programme managers and partners at leading accelerators- Y Combinator India alumni, Atal Innovation Mission, T-Hub, NASSCOM 10,000 Startups, IIM and IIT incubators, and others
Maintain ongoing relationships with angel investors, syndicate leads, and early-stage fund associates who can refer deal flow before it is publicly listed
Attend startup events, demo days, pitch competitions, and founder communities- online and in person- as a representative of VrozartX
Be the person in the room that founders want to talk to, not the person handing out cards

Deal Evaluation

Conduct initial screening of inbound and outbound opportunities- assess founding team, product, market, traction, and fit with VrozartX's operating model
Prepare concise deal memos for the CEO and senior team- clear, opinionated, and grounded in evidence rather than enthusiasm
Run preliminary due diligence conversations with founders- understand their motivations, their cap table, their current situation, and what they are looking for
Support the senior team through the full acquisition or partnership process- from first conversation to term sheet to close

Market Intelligence

Track funding rounds, acquisitions, shutdowns, and pivots across the Indian startup ecosystem weekly
Maintain a structured database of all startups scouted, conversations held, and deals evaluated- with your own commentary on each
Identify trends early- sectors that are heating up, founder profiles that are emerging, technologies that are becoming accessible- and bring them to the leadership team before they are obvious

What We Are Looking For

Experience- one or more of the following:

Time inside an accelerator or incubator- as an analyst, programme associate, cohort manager, or in any operational role where you had direct exposure to early-stage startups
Experience at an angel network or syndicate- sourcing deals, running the investment process, managing investor communications, or supporting portfolio companies
Time at an early-stage or micro-VC fund- deal sourcing, screening, portfolio monitoring, or fund operations
Having been a founder or early employee at a startup yourself- especially if you went through fundraising, an accelerator programme, or an acquisition process
Having built and run a founder community, a startup event series, or a campus entrepreneurship cell at a serious scale

What matters beyond the experience:

You know the Indian startup ecosystem- not from reading about it, but from being in it. You know who the active angels are, which accelerators produce the best founders, and which sectors are genuinely interesting right now versus hype
You are a fast reader of people. Founders are optimistic by design. You can have a 30-minute conversation with a founder and come out with an honest view of what is real and what is narrative
You write clearly and directly. A deal memo from you should tell the senior team what they need to know in two pages- not ten. Opinions welcome, padding not
You are comfortable with ambiguity and moving fast. This role does not have a defined playbook yet. You are partly hired to help build it
You are genuinely excited about the acquisition model- the idea of finding a founder who has built something valuable and bringing them into a larger ecosystem is interesting to you, not just a stepping stone to something else

The Gen-Z specification- what we mean by it: We are specifically looking for someone early in their career because the startup scouting world runs on peer relationships. Founders talk to people at their level, share things with people they trust, and open up to people who are not obviously 20 years senior to them. A sharp 23-year-old with the right energy and network is more effective in this role than a seasoned banker with a polished pitch.

That said- young does not mean inexperienced. We want someone who has already been close to the startup world and has receipts to show for it.
