Full job description

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused Salon Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of our salon at Kalpetta, Wayanad.

The Salon Manager will be responsible for overall store operations, team management, customer experience, sales, revenue growth, inventory control, and ensuring smooth and profitable functioning of the salon.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, a sales-oriented mindset, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced customer-service environment.

Key Responsibilities1. Salon Operations

Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the salon.
Ensure the salon is clean, well-maintained, organised, and ready for business.
Ensure all services are delivered according to company standards.
Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, discipline, and productivity.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs, policies, and operational procedures.
Coordinate opening and closing procedures of the salon.

2. Sales & Revenue Management

Take ownership of the salon's monthly sales and revenue targets.
Develop and implement strategies to increase customer visits, service sales, memberships, packages, and product sales.
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance.
Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
Drive repeat business through effective customer follow-up and relationship management.
Monitor individual staff performance against sales targets.
Prepare and share regular sales and performance reports with management.

3. Customer Experience

Ensure every customer receives a high-quality and consistent salon experience.
Handle customer queries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
Resolve customer issues promptly while protecting the company's interests.
Build strong relationships with regular and high-value customers.
Monitor customer satisfaction and take corrective action where required.
Encourage customer reviews, referrals, and repeat visits.

4. Team Management

Lead, motivate, and manage the salon team effectively.
Allocate duties and responsibilities among staff.
Monitor staff productivity and service quality.
Conduct regular team meetings and performance discussions.
Identify training requirements and coordinate with management for staff development.
Support recruitment and onboarding of new employees when required.
Maintain discipline and a professional working environment.

5. Inventory & Asset Management

Monitor stock levels of salon consumables, cosmetics, and retail products.
Ensure proper usage and minimise wastage, damage, and pilferage.
Conduct regular inventory verification as per company SOP.
Coordinate stock ordering and replenishment.
Ensure all salon equipment and assets are properly maintained.
Immediately report shortages, damages, or unusual variances to management.

6. Cash & Financial Controls

Ensure proper handling of cash, card, UPI, and other payments.
Monitor daily collections and ensure accurate system entries.
Ensure timely cash deposits as per company policy.
Verify daily sales and collection reports.
Prevent unauthorised discounts, refunds, complimentary services, or credit sales.
Maintain strict compliance with company financial controls.

7. Marketing & Business Development

Support local marketing activities to increase salon visibility and customer acquisition.
Develop local partnerships and promotional opportunities where appropriate.
Encourage referrals and membership/package sales.
Coordinate with the marketing team for campaigns and promotional activities.
Monitor competitor activities, pricing, offers, and customer trends in the local market.

8. Reporting & Compliance

Submit daily/weekly/monthly operational and sales reports.
Monitor KPIs such as:
Revenue
Customer footfall
Average bill value
Repeat customer rate
Service/product sales
Staff productivity
Customer complaints
Inventory variance
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable statutory requirements.
Maintain confidentiality of customer, employee, and company information.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The Salon Manager will primarily be evaluated based on:

Achievement of monthly revenue targets
Customer acquisition and retention
Average customer billing
Membership/package sales
Retail product sales
Staff productivity
Customer satisfaction and complaints
Inventory control and wastage
Cash and operational compliance
Overall profitability of the salon

Candidate Profile

Education:

Graduation or equivalent qualification preferred.
Diploma/certification in Salon Management, Beauty & Wellness, Hospitality, or a related field will be an advantage.

Experience:

2–5 years of experience in salon management, beauty/wellness, hospitality, retail, or a similar customer-facing business.
Experience managing a team and achieving sales targets is preferred.
Candidates with strong retail or hospitality management experience may also be considered.
