IT SUPPORT ENGINEER – JUNIOR LEVEL

Job Title : IT Support Engineer

Experience : Freshers / 0–2 Years

Job Location: Ernakulam

Employment Type : Full-Time

PURPOSE

The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to employees, maintaining IT infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting network and system operations, and ensuring smooth functioning of IT services across the organization.

The position is suitable for a fresher or candidate with up to 2 years of relevant experience who has a strong interest in IT support, troubleshooting, networking, and end-user support.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

IT Helpdesk & User Support

Provide first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, network, email, printer, and other IT-related issues.
Receive, record, troubleshoot, and resolve user IT support requests.
Assist users with computer, laptop, printer, scanner, projector, and other IT equipment.
Support employees in installation and configuration of required software and applications.
Provide remote and on-site technical assistance as required.
Escalate complex technical issues to the IT Manager / IT & ERP Coordinator or external service providers.

Hardware & Software Support

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT devices.
Assist in operating system installation, configuration, updates, and troubleshooting.
Install and maintain approved software and applications.
Maintain records of IT hardware, software, accessories, and assigned assets.
Assist in identifying hardware requirements and replacement needs.
Coordinate with vendors for warranty, repairs, and technical support when required.

C. Network & Connectivity Support

Provide basic support for LAN, Wi-Fi, internet, and network connectivity issues.
Troubleshoot basic IP address, DNS, DHCP, and connectivity-related problems.
Assist in maintaining network devices such as switches, routers, access points, and related equipment.
Monitor and report recurring network issues.
Coordinate with internet/network service providers for connectivity-related problems.
Email & User Account Support
Assist users with official email account configuration and troubleshooting.
Support password resets and basic user account-related issues as authorized.
Assist with Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace or other organizational applications, as applicable.
Ensure user access is provided according to approved requirements and company procedures.

ERP & Business Application Support

Provide basic technical support to users for the organization's ERP and other business applications.
Assist users with login, access, system configuration, and basic application-related issues.
Coordinate with the IT & ERP Coordinator / ERP vendor for unresolved issues.
Record and follow up on ERP-related support tickets and issues.
Assist in user training and basic guidance on IT applications whenever required.

IT Asset Management

Maintain an updated IT asset register covering computers, laptops, printers, networking equipment, accessories, and other IT assets.
Record issue, allocation, transfer, repair, replacement, and return of IT assets.
Ensure IT equipment is properly tagged and assigned to employees.
Conduct periodic physical verification of IT assets.
Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment to the concerned authority.

IT Security & Data Protection

Follow company IT security policies and procedures.
Assist in maintaining antivirus/endpoint security and system updates.
Ensure systems are protected with appropriate passwords and security controls.
Report suspected malware, phishing, unauthorized access, or other security incidents immediately.
Ensure company data and user information are handled confidentially.
Assist in implementing backup and data protection procedures as directed by the IT team.

Support for Project Sites

Provide IT support to project/site offices when required.
Assist with installation and maintenance of computers, printers, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, CCTV/network-related equipment, and other IT infrastructure at project locations.
Coordinate with site personnel and external vendors for resolving technical issues.
Travel to project sites as required for IT support and maintenance.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain records of IT complaints, service requests, and resolutions.
Maintain documentation related to IT assets, software, licenses, network equipment, and user access.
Prepare periodic IT support reports as required.
Maintain a record of recurring technical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
Ensure proper documentation of IT procedures and troubleshooting activities.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related discipline.

Pay: ₹180,000.00 - ₹225,000.00 per year
