Job Description – Senior Accountant | Real Estate

Position: Senior Accountant

Industry: Real Estate / Builder & Developer

Location: Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra

Experience: 4–5 Years

Salary: ₹45,000 – ₹60,000 per month

Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting for our real estate business. The ideal candidate should have 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with a real estate builder/developer, and possess strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, GST, TDS, and financial documentation.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journal entries, and general ledger.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts and financial records.

* Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

* Handle GST, TDS, income tax-related accounting and compliance activities.

* Prepare and file GST returns and ensure timely compliance with applicable tax regulations.

* Manage TDS calculations, deductions, reconciliations, and filings.

* Perform regular bank, ledger, vendor, customer, and inter-company reconciliations.

* Monitor accounts receivable and payable and ensure timely follow-ups and settlements.

* Maintain accurate records of customer collections, vendor payments, expenses, and project-related transactions.

* Assist in preparation of project-wise financial statements, MIS reports, budgets, and cash-flow statements.

* Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and other external professionals for audits and statutory requirements.

* Assist with internal and statutory audits and provide required financial documents and supporting information.

* Monitor outstanding payments and prepare regular receivable/payable reports.

* Verify invoices, bills, expense claims, and supporting documents before processing payments.

* Ensure proper accounting and documentation of real estate project-related expenses and transactions.

* Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records for easy retrieval and audit purposes.

* Identify accounting discrepancies and resolve them in coordination with relevant teams.

* Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable statutory regulations.

* Provide regular financial and accounting updates t Candidate Requirements

4–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably with a real estate builder/developer.

* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GST, TDS, and taxation.

* Experience handling complete accounting operations independently.

* Prior experience with real estate/project accounting will be highly preferred.

* Strong knowledge of Tally/ERP accounting software and MS Excel.

* Experience in bank reconciliation, ledger scrutiny, receivables, payables, and financial reporting.

* Good understanding of statutory compliance and accounting documentation.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

* Ability to manage multiple accounting activities and meet deadlines.

* Good communication and coordination skills.

* Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with management, auditors, consultants, and internal teams.

Compensation

Salary: ₹45,000 – ₹60,000 per month

Compensation will be based on the candidate's relevant experience, accounting knowledge, real estate/project accounting exposure, and technical skills.
