About Udhyam:
Udhyam Learning Foundation (Udhyam) is on a mission towards Making Bharat Entrepreneurial. We believe that entrepreneurial mindsets are a powerful way to channelize an individual’s potential as they enable agency and allow an individual to work on their strengths while creating value for the world.
Our programs:
- Udhyam Shiksha works on developing entrepreneurial mindsets among the youth in the government high schools and enabling them to achieve their potential, having impacted ~24,00,000 learners across 10 Indian states.
- Udhyam Vyapaar focuses on nano businesses in India, and solving large problems faced by them, at scale; having already enabled up to a 27% income uplift for 5000+ entrepreneurs.
Udhyam Shiksha’s Program Model:
Udhyam Shiksha works in collaboration with the state governments to implement the Entrepreneurial Mindset Curriculum (EMC) in grades 9th to 12th. EMC is designed to build agency in learners by providing real world learning opportunities to high school students across 4 years. EMC is designed on the foundations of experiential learning and encourages learners to make choices, work in teams, go out of their comfort zones and try new experiences.
About the role:
Building teacher capacities in the government education system to facilitate student agency is deeply challenging. It requires teachers to reexamine long-held beliefs about teaching and learning, and gradually build confidence in new ways of engaging with their classrooms. We believe that nurturing student agency begins with investing in teachers’ own sense of agency.
At the same time, the quality of teacher training at scale is shaped by persistent systemic challenges—ranging from design limitations and delivery constraints to the complex realities of diverse classroom contexts. As a result, there is often a gap between well-intentioned training and meaningful change in classroom practice.
This role is for someone who has spent time engaging with these challenges and developed a nuanced understanding of where and why teacher training efforts fall short. You understand the difference between training that is delivered and development that leads to real shifts in teacher practice. You have seen challenges such as cascade loss, one-size-fits-all approaches, and weak feedback loops—and have begun to form grounded perspectives on how these can be addressed.
As the Senior Manager for Teacher Training and Development, you will bring a strong diagnostic lens to this work. You will identify and unpack the core issues affecting training quality in large-scale government systems, and work backwards to design solutions that are practical, context-sensitive, and grounded in implementation realities. This includes building training approaches and post-training support systems that are not only theoretically sound, but also adaptable and scalable.
At Udhyam, we are working within real constraints—time, hierarchy, geography, and mindset inside a government system. This role requires someone who can balance the rigour of strong design with the flexibility to respond to on-ground realities.
Sitting at the heart of the curriculum and pedagogy team, you will own the teacher development vertical—diagnosing what isn’t working, designing what could work better, and building systems that sustain quality at scale. You will work closely with curriculum team members, state operations partners, and SCERT stakeholders, and contribute to shaping what effective teacher professional development can look like within public education systems in India.
