About the role
This is one of the highest-leverage product roles at Finmo. You will own the core payments stack and the liquidity engine beneath it — the rails customers move money on, the connectors that link us to banks and partners, and the internal liquidity that decides whether a payout settles fast, cheap, and on time.
This is not a roadmap-curator role. You will be in Figma sketching flows at 9am, in a Slack huddle with engineering debating ISO 20022 message structures by lunch, on a call with a liquidity partner negotiating pre-funding terms in the afternoon, and reviewing a launch deck with marketing before EOD. You will own outcomes across payment rails, connectors, beneficiary management, FX execution, settlement, and internal liquidity — and the experience CFOs, treasurers, and our own FinOps team actually touch.
You are equally comfortable reading a scheme rulebook, prototyping in v0 or Lovable, modelling a pre-funding position, and writing the launch narrative. You ship things people love using — and you move the numbers that matter.
What You’ll Own
Core payments & connector roadmap across local rails (FAST, SEPA, ACH, Faster Payments, RTP, UPI, PIX), payment methods (eWallets, QR, Direct Debits), SWIFT, and cross-border corridors — defining what we build, why, in what order, and which bank, PSP, and FX partners we connect to.
End-to-end product experience for payment initiation, approvals, beneficiary management, payment status, reconciliation, and exception handling — owning the edge cases, funding flows, and reconciliation logic, not just the happy path.
Internal liquidity management — own how money is funded, positioned, and moved inside the Finmo platform. Work with liquidity partners (banks, FX liquidity providers, settlement partners) on pre-funding, nostro positioning, sweeps, and settlement timing. Partner deeply with FinOps and Treasury so they have the tooling, visibility, and controls to manage liquidity confidently — minimising trapped cash, idle balances, and funding friction. This is where product decisions hit Finmo’s unit economics directly.
Connector lifecycle — own it end to end: partner discovery on API, SWIFT, and open-banking capabilities; scoping; detailed specs; onboarding; go-live; monitoring; and maintenance. Track connector health — uptime, success rates, latency — and work with engineering and ops to resolve issues fast.
Integration architecture decisions alongside engineering — payment partners, banking rails, FX liquidity providers, ledger design, and screening and sanctions tooling.
Market & competitive intelligence covering Airwallex, Nium, Currencycloud, Thunes, and emerging stablecoin rails — including how competitors fund, position, and price liquidity.
Product narrative & content for marketing, sales enablement, and design — and final sign-off on all customer-facing collateral touching payments and liquidity.
A Typical Week
Designing flows in Figma and prototyping in AI-native tools (v0, Lovable, Bolt, Cursor) to test ideas before engineering scopes them.
Whiteboarding payment orchestration, ledger, and liquidity-positioning architecture with engineering leads.
Reviewing pre-funding positions and settlement timing with FinOps and Treasury — making sure they’re set up to manage liquidity within the platform.
On a call with a bank or FX liquidity partner scoping a new connector or renegotiating funding terms.
Talking to 3–5 customers — treasurers, finance ops leads, CFOs — to pressure-test assumptions.
Reviewing pricing pages, one-pagers, demo scripts, and webinar decks before they go live.
Writing a teardown of a competitor’s new product or a regulatory shift (e.g., RPAA in Canada, ISO 20022 migration, Peppol’s payment extensions).
Shipping.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years in product, with at least 3 years owning payments products at a fintech, payment processor, bank, or PSP.
Deep working knowledge of payment rails, clearing and settlement, SWIFT, ISO 20022, beneficiary validation, sanctions screening, and FX.
Hands-on with API-based integrations and connectors — you’ve scoped, shipped, and maintained them, and you sweat the reconciliation gaps and exception flows.
A real understanding of liquidity and funding flows — pre-funding, nostro/vostro, settlement timing, and how they shape cost, speed, and risk. You can sit with a treasury team and be credible.
Strong design instincts — you can open Figma and produce something credible, and you’ve used AI design tools to ship real prototypes (not just play).
Comfortable in technical conversations about APIs, webhooks, idempotency, retries, and ledger design — you don’t need to write the code, but you need to be in the room.
Sharp at market analysis — you can size a corridor, map a competitor’s pricing and funding logic, and identify where Finmo wins.
A clear writer who has owned content alongside marketing teams and is not precious about red-lining a landing page.
A structured thinker who turns complex technical and financial constraints into clear product decisions — credible with engineers, partners, and treasurers alike.
Bias for shipping; allergic to theatre.
Bonus Points
Experience with treasury, B2B cross-border, or platform/embedded payments.
ERP connectivity (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) or open banking APIs.
Exposure to stablecoin rails, tokenized deposits, programmable payments, or on-chain liquidity.
Worked at a Series A–C fintech and knows what “PM-led growth” actually means in a 30-person product org.
What You’ll Get
A seat at the table on one of the most ambitious treasury platforms being built out of APAC.
Ownership of a role wired directly into Finmo’s growth and economics.
Direct access to founders, customers, and partners.
Equity that matters.
The freedom to build things people love — and the accountability that comes with it.
