Position: Business Analyst – Data Platform & Analytics
Experience: 5+ Years
Mode of Work: Remote

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to support a Databricks-based Data Platform operating within a Data Mesh framework. The successful candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, governance functions, and platform owners to gather, analyze, and document business requirements while ensuring successful delivery of data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Engage with business stakeholders to understand, analyze, and document business requirements.
Develop and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
Translate business needs into clear, actionable, and testable technical requirements for data engineering and platform teams.
Support the design and implementation of data products, governance processes, security controls, and operational frameworks.
Ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate stakeholder discussions, workshops, and requirement-gathering sessions.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), solution validation, and defect management activities.
Identify risks, dependencies, and potential gaps while proactively driving resolution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve platform adoption, usability, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within Data, Analytics, or Enterprise Data Platform initiatives.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including backlog management, user stories, and sprint planning.
Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Visio, or similar platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to Databricks, Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, and Unity Catalog.
Understanding of Data Mesh concepts, Data Products, and Federated Governance.
Familiarity with Data Governance, Security, Compliance, and Data Quality frameworks.
Experience working within large-scale enterprise data environments.
