We help clients identify the right opportunities, develop effective capture strategies, build competitive positioning, and create high-quality proposals for U.S. Federal, State, and Local government contracts.
We are looking for a Capture Specialist who is eager to learn and grow in the areas of capture management, business development, government contracting, and market research.
Role Overview
The Capture Specialist will support opportunity identification, market research, competitive intelligence, capture planning, client research, and pre-RFP activities.
This position is suitable for both freshers and candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience. Fresh graduates with strong research, analytical, communication, and learning skills are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate should have an interest in U.S. government contracting and business development, be comfortable conducting online research, and have the ability to organize and analyze information effectively.
The candidate should also be comfortable using AI tools to support research, analysis, competitive intelligence, and day-to-day productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify relevant U.S. Federal, State, and Local government contracting opportunities.
- Monitor platforms such as SAM.gov, eBuy, state procurement portals, agency forecasts, and other government procurement sources.
- Research government agencies, departments, programs, contracts, incumbents, and upcoming procurement opportunities.
- Track forecasted, upcoming, recompete, and active opportunities.
- Support opportunity qualification based on client capabilities, contract requirements, competition, set-aside status, contract value, timelines, and strategic fit.
- Conduct market and competitive intelligence research to identify competitors, incumbent contractors, contract history, and potential teaming opportunities.
- Research and identify potential prime contractors, subcontractors, teaming partners, and strategic partners.
- Analyze previous contract awards and incumbent information to understand competitive positioning.
- Research agency buying patterns, procurement history, budgets, and strategic priorities.
- Support the development of Capture Plans, Opportunity Briefs, Win Themes, and Call Plans.
- Support the Capture Manager in developing win strategies and client positioning.
- Identify potential client differentiators and strengths that can be leveraged during the capture process.
- Support pre-RFP activities, including Sources Sought, RFIs, industry days, and requests for capability information.
- Assist with developing responses to Sources Sought and RFI opportunities when required.
- Maintain accurate opportunity information, deadlines, notes, and capture activities in internal tracking systems.
- Coordinate with Proposal Writers and Proposal Managers to ensure relevant capture intelligence is incorporated into proposal development.
- Conduct ongoing research throughout the capture lifecycle and update opportunity information as new information becomes available.
- Use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms to support research, data analysis, summarization, competitive intelligence, and productivity.
- Develop effective AI prompts and workflows to improve the efficiency of capture activities.
- Verify and fact-check AI-assisted research and ensure information used for client work is accurate and reliable.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information, business strategies, and proprietary capture materials.
Required Qualifications
- Freshers are welcome to apply. Candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong interest in U.S. government contracting, business development, research, or market intelligence.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to gather information from multiple sources and summarize key findings clearly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Working knowledge of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms, or a strong willingness to learn and use them effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
The following are preferred but not required:
- Previous experience supporting U.S. Federal or SLED government contracting.
- Familiarity with SAM.gov, eBuy, USAspending.gov, FPDS, agency procurement forecasts, and state procurement portals.
- Experience researching government contract awards and incumbent contractors.
- Understanding of NAICS codes, PSC codes, set-asides, contract vehicles, and socioeconomic classifications.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS and U.S. government procurement terminology.
- Experience using CRM, opportunity tracking, or project management platforms such as Monday.com, SharePoint, or similar tools.
- Experience developing capture plans, opportunity assessments, or competitive intelligence reports.

For freshers, prior capture or government contracting experience is not required. We are more interested in candidates who demonstrate strong research abilities, attention to detail, good communication skills, logical thinking, and the ability to learn quickly.
The ideal candidate should be able to look beyond simply finding an opportunity. With training and guidance, they should learn to understand why an opportunity is relevant, who the incumbent is, who the competitors are, what the agency is trying to accomplish, and how our client can position itself to win.
We also value candidates who are comfortable with technology and interested in using AI tools as part of their daily workflow. Candidates do not need to be AI experts, but they should be willing to learn how to use AI responsibly for research, analysis, summarization, and productivity.
