GD Goenka World School invites applications from passionate, experienced, and student-focused educators for the position of ESS & Biology Teacher.

We are seeking a dynamic educator with strong subject expertise and a commitment to inquiry-based and experiential learning within international curriculum frameworks. The ideal candidate should be capable of creating an engaging classroom environment that nurtures scientific thinking, environmental awareness, and academic excellence.

ESS & Biology Teacher
(CLS Biology | IG Environmental Management | DP Environmental Systems & Societies)

Location

Sohna, Gurugram, Haryana

Role Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in Biology and Environmental Systems & Societies across IB and Cambridge curriculum programmes. The role requires an educator who can inspire students through interactive learning methodologies, critical thinking, and real-world application of scientific concepts.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Biology, Environmental Management (EVM), and Environmental Systems & Societies (ESS)
Plan and implement inquiry-based and student-centered teaching strategies aligned with IB and Cambridge curriculum standards
Develop lesson plans, assessments, assignments, and laboratory activities to support conceptual understanding
Encourage scientific inquiry, analytical thinking, research skills, and environmental consciousness among students
Monitor student progress and provide regular academic feedback and support
Maintain accurate academic records, reports, and assessment documentation
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and positive classroom environment
Participate actively in curriculum planning, school activities, departmental initiatives, and professional development programmes.
Collaborate with parents, coordinators, and faculty members to support holistic student growth and well-being

Eligibility Criteria

Relevant teaching experience in Biology and ESS/EVM
Strong understanding of IB and/or Cambridge curriculum frameworks and assessment practices
Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
Passion for innovative and experiential teaching methodologies
IB/IGCSE-trained candidates will be preferred

Desired Skills & Competencies

Strong subject knowledge and pedagogical expertise
Ability to integrate contemporary environmental and scientific issues into classroom learning
Effective planning, organizational, and collaborative skills
Student-focused approach with strong mentoring abilities
Commitment to continuous professional development and academic excellence

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred
IB/Cambridge training or certification will be an added advantage

Experience

Relevant teaching experience in ESS, Environmental Management, and Biology preferred
Experience teaching international curricula will be considered an advantage
