Operations Manager – Loan Operations

Job Type: Full-time
Industry: FinTech / Banking / Financial Services
Experience: Relevant experience in loan operations preferred

About the Role

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Operations Manager to manage and oversee the loan operations process within our financial services organization. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth and efficient loan processing, servicing, compliance, and operational delivery while maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer service.

The role requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to coordinate with multiple teams to ensure timely and effective loan operations.

Key Responsibilities

Loan Processing

Manage the end-to-end loan processing function, including receiving and reviewing loan applications.
Verify credit information and ensure accuracy of loan documentation.
Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely processing and disbursement of loans.
Monitor application status and resolve operational issues to minimize delays.

Loan Servicing

Oversee loan servicing activities, including payment processing and customer account management.
Respond to customer inquiries and ensure compliance with loan terms and conditions.
Coordinate with internal teams to resolve servicing-related issues and maintain service quality.

Compliance Management

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to loan operations.
Monitor adherence to operational procedures and internal controls.
Support the development and implementation of policies and processes to maintain regulatory compliance.

Risk Management

Identify and assess operational and loan-related risks.
Implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks and improve operational controls.
Monitor loan portfolio performance and coordinate with relevant teams to address potential issues.

Quality Assurance

Ensure the quality and accuracy of loan processing and servicing activities.
Conduct regular quality assurance reviews and identify areas for process improvement.
Implement corrective actions to maintain operational efficiency and compliance with quality standards.

Team Management

Recruit, train, mentor, and manage loan operations staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback and coaching.
Ensure team members have the necessary resources and support to perform their responsibilities effectively.
Set clear performance expectations and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Reporting & Analysis

Prepare and maintain reports related to loan operations and team performance.
Develop and track operational performance metrics.
Monitor loan portfolio performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Present operational insights and recommendations to senior management.

Required Skills & Competencies

Good understanding of loan operations and financial services processes.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
Relevant experience in loan operations, banking, NBFC, FinTech, or financial services.
Experience in managing loan processing, servicing, or operations teams.
Knowledge of unsecured lending products and loan lifecycle management is an added advantage.
Experience with CRM, loan management systems, and operational reporting tools will be preferred.
