SANDS AUSTRALIA
Senior Manager – Finance & Commercial
Open to candidates based in: India │ Remote │ Full-Time │ 09:00 AM – 06:00 PM AEST
WHO WE ARE
SandS Australia is a globally connected business advisory, finance and operational solutions firm, proudly headquartered in Melbourne and delivering strategic, cost-optimised services to 50+ clients across Australia, the UK, US, Canada, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
We empower ambitious startups, scaling SMEs, corporate enterprises, and government-funded organisations by integrating senior financial and operational leadership with a high-performance delivery model built to exceed Australian and international standards.
Our strength lies in bridging strategy and execution. From CFO support to full-scale operational transformation, we help business leaders unlock growth, streamline complexity, and operate with greater clarity, confidence, and control.
We recruit from a global pool of over 300,000+ professionals but only the top 1 in 3,000 make it through our rigorous 6-stage selection process, including technical testing, real-world simulations, and director-led interviews. Each team member is trained to exceed Australian business standards, ensuring quality and consistency from day one.
We welcome applications from diverse backgrounds and are committed to building inclusive, client-focused teams that consistently exceed expectations.
THE ROLE
This is a senior leadership appointment, not a delivery role. We are looking for an exceptional Senior Manager – Finance & Commercial to join our high-performing global team and take ownership of client portfolios, team performance, and commercial outcomes across SandS Australia.
This role is designed for a finance leader who has already proven themselves at Manager level and is ready to step into a broader, business-shaping mandate. You will lead managers and delivery teams, hold portfolio-level commercial accountability, drive growth through new business and account expansion, and shape the operational systems that keep the firm performing at its best.
You will be a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, a coach and standard-setter for your teams, and a strategic partner to the Director on the direction, discipline, and growth of the business. The role sits at the intersection of finance leadership, commercial ownership, and operational management — and is reserved for candidates who can operate confidently across all three.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Client & Commercial Leadership
- Own senior client relationships, acting as a long-term advisor on profitability, cash flow, risk, and growth strategies
- Drive client acquisition by speaking directly with prospective clients and converting opportunities into engagements
- Maintain and grow existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and revenue optimisation per client
- Lead the engagement letter process — quoting, value maximisation, follow-through, and conversion
- Manage variations across scope, pricing, and client communication, and increase contracted hours as scope expands
- Ensure adherence to contracts and commercial terms across the portfolio
Project Delivery & Quality
- Oversee client onboarding, project setup, and engagement structuring across multiple concurrent client portfolios
- Allocate teams and resources to match client requirements, deadlines, and capacity
- Provide ongoing project oversight and quality assurance across all deliverables to ensure consistent international standards
- Lead regular client meetings, communication, and reporting, and ensure deliverables are signed off on time
- Resolve client issues through proactive crisis and problem management — protecting both the client outcome and the firm's reputation
Team & Performance Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of Managers and delivery staff, holding them accountable to KPIs, standards, and commercial outcomes
- Train team members for high-quality project delivery, technical capability, and career progression
- Drive productivity and efficiency through consistent process discipline and execution
- Plan team structure and capacity to match the firm's growth trajectory
- Lead recruitment strategy and hiring decisions for the function, and manage performance, discipline, and retention across the team
Operational & Strategic Oversight
- Hold operational oversight of the business unit, ensuring systems and processes work end-to-end
- Implement and enforce MIS and reporting systems across the team
- Lead process improvement and system development initiatives that drive efficiency and scale
- Provide internal reporting to the Director on financial, operational, and commercial performance
- Oversee project-level financial performance and ensure billable hour targets are met at team level
- Manage CRM systems and ensure the team meets KPIs across opportunities, conversions, and pipeline health
- Contribute to marketing strategy, sales pipeline development, and website development as required to support the firm's growth
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are not just hiring a title. We are looking for a senior leader, strategic operator, and trusted advisor.
- Fully qualified (CPA, CIMA, ACCA, CA or equivalent)
- Minimum 5+ years in a Senior Finance Manager / Senior Manager role and 12+ years in finance overall (preferably in consulting, advisory, or multinational business environments)
- Demonstrated track record of leading teams of managers and delivering across multiple client portfolios simultaneously
- Strong commercial instinct — confident leading conversations on pricing, scope, growth, and client retention
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, particularly with Western clients at senior level
- High emotional intelligence, resilience, and a feedback-driven mindset — open to coaching and committed to growth
- Operationally minded — comfortable building systems, processes, and team structures, not just managing within them
- Proven ability to drive efficiency through finance systems, integrations, and automation tools
- Confident operating in a fast-paced, global, remote environment with minimal oversight

WORK HOURS
This is a remote, full-time role aligned to Australian business hours (09:00 AM – 06:00 PM AEST). Given the senior, client-facing, and global nature of this role, occasional work outside standard hours — including weekends — may be required based on project, leadership, or client deadlines.
SALARY EXPECTATIONS
At SandS Australia, this role presents a unique career development opportunity, offering unparalleled global growth prospects and exposure at senior level. We are seeking individuals driven by long-term professional growth and the valuable international leadership experience that comes with it.
We encourage candidates to align their salary expectations with industry standards, reflecting the seniority and competitive nature of the role. Those who are not shortlisted based on the criteria are respectfully advised to revisit this opportunity after 12 months, ensuring a fair and sustainable hiring process for all.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS
We believe in capability, not guesswork.
Our selection process for senior roles includes three focused assessments designed to identify the best-fit leader:
- Technical & Accuracy – Evaluates your ability to understand complex new scopes of work, apply newly gathered information effectively, and produce accurate, detail-oriented outcomes that meet international standards
- Communication & Relationships – Assesses how well you interpret senior client expectations and respond in a way that builds trust, manages stakeholders, and strengthens long-term commercial relationships
- Efficiency & Prioritisation – Measures your ability to lead under pressure — staying organised, thinking clearly, and applying practical judgement to prioritise across multiple portfolios
All assessments reflect real role scenarios — practical, focused, and purposeful.
Candidates who successfully complete all assessments will progress to a final interview centred on leadership mindset, feedback openness, and expectation alignment.
Only candidates genuinely committed to excelling through a rigorous, high-standard process are encouraged to apply.
