About the Engagement / Client
The selected candidate will be deputed to work closely with one of our key clients under the supervision of the CFO and senior leadership team. The engagement provides hands-on exposure to core finance functions, strategic decision-making, and transaction-related assignments in a dynamic business environment.
Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant with 3–5 years of post-qualification experience to join our Audit & Transaction Advisory practice.
This is an “On-Roll” opportunity with APCA, where the selected candidate will be deployed at the client location. The role offers a unique blend of:
· Financial reporting & accounting
· Audit & assurance exposure
· Transaction advisory & due diligence
· Compliance & regulatory reporting
This position is ideal for professionals looking to transition from traditional accounting and compliance roles into more strategic and transaction-driven finance functions.
You will work closely with the CFO, business heads, and senior stakeholders, gaining high ownership and visibility across critical finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Audit & Assurance
· Execute statutory, internal, and tax audits in line with applicable standards
· Prepare and review audit working papers and documentation
· Support financial statement preparation and finalization (including schedules and disclosures)
· Conduct substantive and analytical audit procedures
· Identify control gaps, risk areas, and audit observations
· Assist in closure of audit findings and ensure compliance with audit timelines
2. Transaction Advisory & Due Diligence
· Assist in financial due diligence assignments (buy-side / sell-side)
· Analyse historical financials and identify key financial and operational trends
· Normalize financial statements for transaction purposes
· Support preparation of due diligence reports, financial summaries, and dashboards
· Work on data room management, investor queries, and documentation
· Perform financial analysis including ratio analysis, trend analysis, and basic modelling
· Assist senior team members in live deal execution and transaction support
3. Financial Reporting & Accounting
· Oversee and support maintenance of books of accounts as per applicable standards
· Manage general ledger, journal entries, and month-end/year-end closing processes
· Prepare periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)
· Handle consolidation of financial statements across entities (if applicable)
· Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data
4. MIS, Budgeting & Analysis
· Prepare MIS reports and management dashboards for leadership review
· Perform variance analysis (budget vs actuals) and provide actionable insights
· Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning exercises
· Support cost center tracking and profitability analysis
5. Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
· Ensure compliance with Income Tax, GST, and other applicable regulations
· Assist in GST filings, returns, and reconciliations
· Support direct tax computations and filings
· Handle ROC filings and secretarial compliance matters
· Ensure FEMA compliance and reporting (where applicable)
· Stay updated with regulatory changes and assess impact on business
6. Payroll & Operational Finance
· Oversee payroll processing and related compliance
· Ensure accurate computation of salaries, deductions, and statutory contributions
· Coordinate with HR and external consultants for payroll-related matters
7. Client & Stakeholder Management
· Act as a key point of contact for client coordination
· Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including auditors, consultants, and regulators
· Participate in client meetings, discussions, and review calls
· Manage data requests, clarifications, and deliverables efficiently
8. Internal Coordination & Quality Control
· Ensure timely execution of assignments across multiple engagements
· Maintain structured documentation and audit trails
· Adhere to APCA’s internal quality standards and processes
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless delivery
Candidate Profile
· Qualified Chartered Accountant with 3–5 years of post-qualification experience
· Prior experience in a CA firm or consulting environment preferred
· Strong exposure to audit, accounting, and financial reporting
· Experience in due diligence, transaction advisory, or deal support is an advantage
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-client environment
· High ownership mindset with strong learning agility
Key Skills & Competencies
· Strong understanding of Accounting Standards (Ind AS / AS) and Auditing Standards
· Proficiency in MS Excel (data analysis, financial modelling basics)
· Ability to interpret and analyse financial statements
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Attention to detail with a structured approach to work
· Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
· Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines
