Role Overview
The Senior Specialist – Data Enablement Lead is accountable for enabling trusted, governed, reusable, and AI‑ready data products across Animal Health by providing standards, methods, platforms, guardrails, and enablement — while data ownership remains with Value Teams.
Operating within the Architecture, Integration, Data Engineering & Data Enablement (AIDE) organization, this role partners closely with Value Teams, platform teams, analytics and AI teams, and enterprise governance bodies to embed data enablement capabilities into business domains.
Working in a matrixed, domain‑centric environment, the Data Enablement Lead acts as a product manager for data enablement, translating governance and platform capabilities into scalable, consumable outcomes that accelerate business value, analytics, and AI adoption.
What will you do
-
Define and drive the Data Enablement strategy for assigned data domains, aligned with Value Teams, Animal Health Data Platform and One Data Program objectives.
-
Establish and enforce data enablement standards, guardrails, and design principles covering data quality, metadata, lineage, access, privacy, and AI readiness.
-
Act as the AIDE liaison to Value Teams, co‑designing domain data products while maintaining clear separation between enablement and ownership.
-
Enable self‑service data capabilities with guardrails, in collaboration with platforms, engineering, and security teams.
-
Own and evolve data enablement roadmaps, prioritizing capabilities based on domain needs, adoption, and business value.
-
Ensure data products are discoverable, trusted, reusable, and fit for advanced analytics and GenAI use cases.
-
Partner with analytics, AI, and data science teams to ensure data enablement supports current and future AI needs.
-
Define and track product‑style metrics (adoption, data quality, time‑to‑delivery, consumer satisfaction).
-
Support domain governance councils, escalation paths, and cross‑domain alignment.
Your Daily Activities include, but are not limited to:
- Management: Lead the design and implementation of scalable, compliant data enablement capabilities aligned with business priorities. Support leadership vision and strategy for a federated, domain‑centric data operating model.
-
Process and Insight: Translate governance and platform capabilities into repeatable enablement processes. Promote data‑driven decision‑making using metrics and insights from enablement outcomes.
-
Product & Delivery: Operate with a data‑as‑a‑product mindset, managing enablement backlogs, roadmaps, and lifecycle evolution. Deliver incrementally using agile ways of working.
-
Relationships: Build trusted partnerships with Value Teams, platform teams, analytics teams, and enterprise governance stakeholders. Influence without assuming data ownership.
-
Organizational Change Management: Drive behavioral and cultural change toward reuse, self‑service, and product thinking. Act as a role model for modern data enablement and product leadership practices.
-
Global & Enterprise Alignment: Ensure enablement approaches align with enterprise standards, platforms, and governance frameworks. Coordinate with central data and analytics organizations to avoid duplication and misalignment.
-
Diversity & Inclusion: Respect and value diverse perspectives, fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment
