Job Summary

We at Standard Chartered are searching for a skilled and experienced recruiter to support high-volume hiring, with a focus on Wealth & Retail Banking skill requirements. The role is responsible for end-to-end talent acquisition including proactive sourcing, screening and shortlisting, interview management, and stakeholder communication, ensuring candidates meet role-specific capabilities such as retail/branch banking, wealth management, affluent/HNW client coverage, customer advisory and sales, regulatory and conduct awareness, and strong service orientation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

Work closely with managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s hiring needs for every role, and to meet competitive hiring goals and expectations.
Manage the full recruiting lifecycle across a variety of open roles, helping managers find, hire, and retain quality candidates.
Foster high-touch relationships using a database of qualified candidates to choose from when positions become open.
Partner with recruiting team and senior managers to design, refine, and implement innovative recruitment strategies.
Remain active with job boards, social networks, and platforms for finding quality candidates, and create and post s and announcements.

Business

Develop relationships with managers to build awareness of their departments, hiring needs, and job specifications
Write and post s on relevant platforms, especially social media
Utilize knowledge of multiple recruiting sources and execute innovative strategies to find quality candidates and prospect for new business
Screen resumes and CVs and manage job candidates throughout hiring process, from interview preparation to final-offer negotiation
Maintain database of candidate records, including active and passive prospects, hired and fired employees, and other designations
Provide coaching and guidance to junior-level recruiting staff.

Stakeholders for a recruiter typically include:
Hiring Managers: They work closely with recruiters to define job requirements and make final hiring decisions.
Candidates: Potential employees who are actively seeking job opportunities and interacting with recruiters.
Human Resources (HR) Department: Collaborates with recruiters on onboarding, compliance, and employee relations.
Senior Management/Executives: They set strategic hiring goals and approve budgets for recruitment.
Department Heads/Team Leads: They provide specific insights into the skills and qualifications needed for their teams.
Recruitment Agencies/Consultants: External partners that may assist in sourcing and screening candidates.
Current Employees: They might participate in referral programs or provide input on the hiring process.
IT Department: Supports the recruitment process with necessary technology and systems.
Legal and Compliance Teams: Ensure that recruitment practices adhere to labor laws and company policies.
Marketing/Communications Team: Helps in employer branding and promoting job openings.
These stakeholders play various roles in the recruitment process, from defining job requirements to ensuring compliance and supporting the overall hiring strategy.

Qualifications

8-12 years of experience in recruitment

Understanding of Wealth & Retail Banking product suites and role requirements, including deposits (CASA/TD), secured and unsecured lending, cards, bancassurance/insurance, and investments/wealth products (mutual funds, structured notes, discretionary/advisory).
Awareness of product governance and suitability concepts relevant to WRB hiring (e.g., KYC/AML, conduct risk, sales quality, client suitability/needs-based advisory, and local regulatory expectations).
Experience sourcing profiles across WRB product, sales, and service roles (e.g., relationship managers, branch sales, wealth specialists, product managers, contact centre, operations), with strong market mapping and competitor intelligence.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
Sound knowledge of database management, and internet search methods
Familiarity with job boards like Naukri & LinkedIn
Proven success in conducting interviews using various methods (phone, video, email, in-person)
Multitasker, team player, and flexible to changing business trends.
Ability to manage difficult conversations with ease.
Familiarity with the entire recruitment cycle and various sourcing techniques.
Effective time management and organization skills.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Independent thinker, quick decision maker, and problem solver.
A quick learner with an understanding of business needs and alignment with candidate skills.
An entrepreneurial mindset is preferred.
