Job description
Key Responsibilities
1. Facilities Management
Oversee day-to-day operations of building facilities including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, DG systems, UPS, fire & safety systems.
Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance schedules are implemented effectively.
Coordinate with vendors for AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts) and service execution.
Monitor facility performance and initiate improvements for energy efficiency and cost optimization.
Support infrastructure planning, upgrades, and expansion projects.
2. Laboratory Operations
Ensure uninterrupted utilities supply (power, compressed air, water, gas systems) to lab equipment.
Coordinate installation, commissioning, and maintenance of lab instruments.
Implement lab layout optimization for operational efficiency and safety.
Maintain proper documentation of lab equipment calibration, validation, and maintenance logs.
Ensure compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.
3. Technical & Engineering Support
Troubleshoot technical issues related to facility systems and lab equipment.
Support engineering design reviews and technical audits.
Prepare technical specifications and assist in procurement of equipment and services.
Maintain spares inventory and critical equipment readiness.
4. Safety, Compliance & Quality
Ensure adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.
Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain statutory compliance (electrical safety, fire systems, pollution control, etc.).
Participate in audits (ISO, regulatory bodies, internal audits).
5. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Manage external contractors and service providers.
Track SLAs/KPIs and ensure quality service delivery.
Liaise with internal stakeholders (R&D, operations, admin teams) for requirements.
Control budgets related to maintenance and projects.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain facility logs, service reports, maintenance trackers, and compliance records.
Generate MIS reports on performance, downtime, and energy usage.
Prepare SOPs for facility and lab operations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Instrumentation / Civil).
5–8 years of experience in facilities management and/or lab operations.
Experience in handling technical infrastructure in R&D labs, manufacturing, or corporate setups.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, utilities).
Understanding of lab equipment and utility dependencies.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
Vendor management and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of safety standards and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in MS Office and facility management systems.
Preferred Skills
Experience with energy management and sustainability initiatives.
Knowledge of automation/BMS (Building Management Systems).
Certification in safety, facilities management, or project management (preferred).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Facility uptime and reliability.
Maintenance adherence (PM completion rates).
Energy consumption and cost savings.
Compliance audit scores.
Lab downtime reduction.
Vendor performance effectiveness.

Facilities Manager / Operations Head
Work Environment
Combination of office, technical plant rooms, and laboratory settings.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirement: B-Tech/BE (Electrical )
Additional Qualification –
Certification in AutoCAD if any
Certifications in facility management if any
