Job Title: Accountant
Department: Accounts & Finance

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Accountant to manage the company’s financial records, statutory compliance, and day-to-day accounting operations. The candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and financial reporting. The role requires accuracy, integrity, and the ability to meet deadlines while ensuring compliance with government regulations.

Job Description

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, handling taxation matters including GST and Income Tax returns, and supporting management with financial data and reports. The candidate will work closely with internal teams, auditors, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Accounting Operations

Maintain books of accounts such as Cash Book, Bank Book, Purchase Register, Sales Register, and Journal Entries.
Record day-to-day financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., Tally / ERP).
Verify invoices, bills, and vouchers.
Handle accounts payable and receivable.
Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.

2. Banking & Reconciliation

Perform bank reconciliation statements (BRS) regularly.
Manage online banking transactions, payments, and fund transfers.
Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate balance for operational needs.

3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

The accountant will be responsible for preparing and filing statutory returns including:

GST Compliance

Preparation and filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual returns.
Input Tax Credit reconciliation.
GST ledger maintenance.
Handling GST notices and departmental communication.

Income Tax

Preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns.
TDS calculation, deduction, and return filing.
Preparation and submission of TDS Returns (24Q, 26Q, etc.).
Issuing TDS certificates.

Other Compliance

Professional Tax returns (if applicable).
ROC related financial documentation (if required).
Compliance with statutory regulations and government norms.

4. Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
Prepare Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
Assist management in financial planning and budgeting.
Provide financial reports for decision-making.

5. Audit Support

Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
Provide required documents during statutory audit, tax audit, and GST audit.
Ensure records are maintained according to audit standards.

6. Payroll & Expense Management

Maintain employee salary records and payroll processing.
Calculate statutory deductions like PF, ESI, and Professional Tax.
Monitor company expenses and ensure proper approvals.

7. Vendor & Client Account Management

Reconcile vendor accounts and outstanding payments.
Follow up for receivables from clients.
Maintain accurate party ledgers.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles and Financial Reporting
Knowledge of GST, Income Tax, TDS, and statutory compliance
Experience with accounting software such as Tally, Excel, or ERP systems
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Educational Qualification

B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
Additional certification in taxation or accounting will be an advantage.

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
Experience in handling taxation, GST filing, and financial reporting preferred.

Audit & Compliance

Payroll & Statutory Deductions

Assist in payroll processing.
Maintain records of PF, ESI, and Professional Tax where applicable.

Required Skills

Knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance
Experience in Tally / Accounting Software / MS Excel

Eligibility Criteria

Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or relevant qualification
