Profile Summary
The Senior Manager – Allied Ophthalmic Paramedics (AOPs) will lead the end-to-end strategy, execution, and scaling of the AOP program, a flagship initiative to build a skilled allied eye care workforce. This role involves overseeing training operations, team management, donor and stakeholder engagement, event leadership, and organizational visibility. The Senior Manager will ensure high-quality training delivery, effective workforce deployment, and sustainable growth while actively promoting the institution’s brand at national and international platforms.
About AOP: AOP (Allied Ophthalmic Paramedics) program or Certified Ophthalmic Paramedics (COP) program is specifically designed to train young women from underprivileged backgrounds, with the aim of improving the quality of ophthalmic services. We focus on training the AOPs to develop the necessary skills and empower them to effectively identify, screen, support, supplement, and streamline clinical workloads. By doing so, they contribute in boosting productivity, assisting ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals, and ultimately enhancing patient care in a cost-effective manner and thereby contribute towards reduction of avoidable blindness in their area.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Program Leadership
· Develop and implement a long-term vision and operational strategy for the AOP program.
· Lead the program expansion across multiple locations, including new partner sites and satellite centres.
· Set and track program KPIs, quality benchmarks, and impact metrics.
Program Management & Leadership
· Lead the planning, implementation, and expansion of AOP training programs.
· Develop and monitor annual work plans, budgets, and timelines.
· Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, policies, and protocols.
Training Management & Capacity Building
· Oversee the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of curriculum aligned with global eye care standards.
· Guide the selection, mentoring, and development of trainers and academic coordinators.
· Ensure comprehensive training including clinical skills, life skills, English, digital literacy, and patient-cantered care.
Curriculum Development & Quality Assurance
· Oversee the development, revision, and implementation of training modules (clinical, soft skills, English, digital literacy, etc.).
· Ensure alignment of training content with national skill standards (e.g., NSDC, NOS).
· Introduce innovative teaching methodologies (e.g., blended learning, simulation labs).
Team Supervision & Capacity Building
· Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of trainers and support staff.
· Conduct periodic performance reviews and capacity-building workshops.
· Facilitate exposure visits, internships, and placements for trainees.
Brand Promotion & Visibility
· Strategically position the AOP program as a model for women’s empowerment and workforce development in healthcare.
· Develop content and campaigns to promote the program via print, digital, and social media platforms.
· Represent the institution in external forums to enhance visibility and build collaborations.
Student Welfare & Career Support
· Ensure the safety, discipline, and well-being of all trainees, especially those in hostels.
· Address grievances, counselling needs, and build student leadership.
· Facilitate job placements, higher education pathways, and alumni engagement.
Events, Conferences & Workshops
· Conceptualize and organize national and international level workshops, conferences, webinars, and symposiums.
· Partner with leading eye care institutions, NGOs, and educational bodies to showcase innovations in allied health training.
· Document and publish program findings and success stories in journals or healthcare publications.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
· Establish data-driven systems to monitor trainee performance, alumni placement, and institutional outcomes.
· Conduct field evaluations and audits to ensure quality and consistency across all training sites.
· Prepare internal reports, case studies, dashboards, and presentations for management and external stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Team Leadership
· Liaise with clinical departments, HR, nursing, and hospital administration for workforce deployment.
· Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of training leads, counsellors, and academic staff.
· Foster a positive learning environment and culture of accountability.
Donor & Stakeholder Management
· Manage relationships with institutional donors, CSR partners, and philanthropic agencies.
· Develop funding proposals, periodic donor reports, and impact stories showcasing program outcomes.
· Coordinate donor visits, reviews, and evaluations
Any other responsibility as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in Public Health/ Social Work/ MBA/ Healthcare Management/Optometry, or related field.
· 15 years plus experience in managing training programs in healthcare or allied health sciences.
· Strong understanding of ophthalmic care systems and skill-building ecosystem in India.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
