Job Title: Software Developer III – Tableau Role Overview

As a Senior Tableau Developer, you will design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade dashboards and BI solutions that enable data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with data engineers and business stakeholders to deliver scalable analytics solutions within an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard & Visualization Development

Design, develop, test, and deploy interactive Tableau dashboards
Translate business requirements into effective data models and visualization designs
Publish and manage content on Tableau Server/Cloud

Data Preparation & SQL Development

Develop complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation
Work with multiple data sources (SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, cloud platforms)
Prepare datasets using Tableau Prep or ETL tools

Performance & Optimization

Optimize dashboard performance and ensure scalability
Perform data validation and testing to maintain accuracy

Stakeholder Collaboration

Gather and refine reporting requirements with business teams
Provide actionable insights based on analytical findings

Support & Governance

Troubleshoot dashboard/data issues
Maintain documentation and follow BI development best practices
Mentor junior developers (Senior-level expectation)

Must Have Skills

3+ years of hands-on Tableau development experience
Strong expertise in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud
Advanced SQL skills (joins, CTEs, aggregations, performance tuning)
Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL concepts
Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, etc.)
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Good to Have Skills

Experience with Power BI or other BI tools (Qlik, etc.)
Exposure to Python or R for advanced analytics
Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Familiarity with data lakes and modern data architectures
Knowledge of data governance and BI best practices
