We're hiring a Social Media Manager to own how Kwill shows up across every social channel — strategy, execution, reporting, and the everyday calls that make a brand feel alive.
You'll work directly with the founder, manage our content agency partnership, lead the social interns we hire, and be the single accountable owner of every number on our social dashboards. If you've grown a B2B or SaaS social presence from quiet to meaningful, and you care about taste and tone as much as you care about reach, we want to talk to you.
This is a full-time, on-site role at our Amritsar office.
About Kwill
Kwill is the client portal for the world's service businesses — one branded experience for proposals, e-signatures, invoices, and Stripe-powered payments. Our customers' clients experience it as the business's own brand, not Kwill's.
We're built global-first, with real users in 40+ countries. Our promise to customers is "Look like an agency of ten, even if you're a team of one." Our promise to teammates is plainspoken work, fast feedback, and real ownership from day one.
The marketing engine is being built right now — by the founder, by a content agency we've brought on, and by you.
Why this role exists
Social media is one of the two or three highest-leverage channels we have in the next twelve months. It is also the channel where most companies underperform because nobody owns it end-to-end. The agency produces content. The founder writes the occasional post. Comments go un-replied. Numbers drift. Voice slips. Strategy gets reactive.
We don't want to be that. We want one person who owns this completely — sets the strategy, executes it daily, manages the agency relationship, leads the interns, and is accountable for the numbers.
You will be that person.
What you'll ownStrategy and planning
- The Kwill social media strategy across X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Threads, Reddit, WhatsApp broadcasts, Telegram, and Facebook Groups.
- Quarterly social roadmap, in lockstep with founder priorities and the agency's content plan.
- The editorial calendar — what we post, when, on which channel, written down and visible to the team.
- Channel-by-channel playbooks: posting cadence, formats, hashtags, hooks, voice.
Day-to-day execution
- Publishing across all owned channels — original posts, repurposed content, founder-ghostwritten posts, real-time reactions.
- Community engagement — replies, comments, DMs, quote tweets. The brand needs to feel like a human, fast.
- Channel-specific best practices: LinkedIn document carousels, X threads, Instagram Stories, TikTok hook discipline, Reddit karma-building.
- Real-time response to news, customer wins, competitor moves, and product launches.
Agency partnership
- Be Kwill's primary liaison to our content agency. Brief them, review their work, push back when needed, escalate when blocked.
- Maintain the operating cadence with the agency: weekly sync, monthly review, quarterly strategy.
- Translate founder priorities into agency briefs and vice versa.
Team leadership
- Manage and mentor our Digital Marketing Intern(s).
- Build a small social team over time as we scale — community moderator, video editor, paid social specialist.
- Set clear weekly priorities; review work; coach.
Performance and reporting
- Own the social dashboard. Define KPIs per channel — follower growth, engagement, attributable sign-ups, branded search lift, share of voice.
- Weekly numbers report to the founder.
- Monthly written performance review.
- Quarterly strategy review and recalibration.
Brand voice
- Be the steward of the Kwill voice in every public-facing post. Plainspoken, direct, global, no puffery.
- Train the agency, the interns, and any contractors on the voice guide.
- Catch and fix off-brand drafts before they ship.
Partnerships and creator outreach
- Build and run our micro-influencer and creator partnership program in the freelance and small-agency space.
- Identify, pitch, and manage 5–10 active creator partnerships per quarter.
- Negotiate gifted access, sponsored content, and ambassador deals.
Paid social (Phase 2 and beyond)
- When we activate paid social (X Ads, Reddit Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads), you set the strategy and either run the buys yourself or hire a contractor to support.
- Iteration on creative, audiences, and offers.
- Honest reporting on what works and what doesn't.
Crisis response
- Own the response playbook for negative reviews, viral complaints, product outages, and any moment where the brand needs to speak in public quickly.
We're looking for someone who…
- Has 2–4 years of professional social media experience, ideally in B2B, SaaS, or DTC — or has personally grown a meaningful social presence (their own or a previous employer's) from low numbers to real engagement.
- Can point to specific outcomes. "I grew X account from 2k to 50k followers in 9 months" or "I drove 800 paid sign-ups from one campaign." Real numbers, real receipts.
- Writes very well. Hooks, threads, captions, DMs, comments. Tone matters here as much as logic. You can match a brand voice without being told twice.
- Has strong instincts across all the major platforms. You don't need to be equally elite on every one, but you should be comfortable on at least four of X / LinkedIn / Instagram / TikTok / YouTube and willing to learn the rest.
- Is organised. You can run a content calendar, a creator pipeline, an agency relationship, and an intern's weekly priorities without dropping things.
- Knows the difference between activity and progress. You measure what matters. You kill what isn't working. You're not addicted to vanity metrics.
- Can manage up and across. You'll work closely with the founder and an external agency. You should be confident, structured, and respectful in stakeholder communication.
- Cares about the user. You'll spend time in real freelance and small-agency communities. Empathy is part of the job.
- Speaks fluent English in writing. Hindi and Punjabi are bonuses for working with our local team and culture.
- Is honest about what they don't know. Marketing is full of made-up authority. We'd rather you say "I'm not sure, let me check" than fake it.
You do not need:
- A marketing degree. We care what you've shipped, not where you studied.
- Big-agency or big-brand experience. We've seen the best work come from people who grew their own audience.
- To already live in Amritsar. If you're nearby (Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Delhi) and willing to relocate, we'll help.
Nice to have, not required
- You run your own social presence (X account, newsletter, TikTok, Substack, etc.) that we can look at.
- You've run paid social campaigns and have honest opinions about which platforms convert and which don't.
- You've used analytics tools — Plausible, GA4, Looker Studio, Notion dashboards, or similar.
- You've used or studied client-facing SaaS tools (HoneyBook, Dubsado, Bonsai, FreshBooks, ClickUp, etc.) and have opinions.
- You've done freelance work yourself, or grown up around small business / family business. You'll understand our user intuitively.
- A second or third language. We're a global product (multi-currency, 40+ countries) and translate copy regularly. Hindi, Punjabi, Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic especially valued.
- Basic comfort with design tools (Figma, Canva), short-form video editing (CapCut, Descript), or simple animation.
A typical week
- One 15-min daily standup with the founder (in person).
- One 30-min weekly sync with the content agency (video call).
- One 30-min weekly 1:1 with your interns.
- 2–3 hours per day of execution work — drafting, scheduling, replying, engaging.
- 4–6 hours per week of strategic work — calendar, planning, creator pipeline, dashboards.
- A weekly written recap to the founder: what shipped, what hit, what didn't, what's next.
No status theatre. No 14-person meetings where two people talk and twelve zone out. We work in person because it's faster and warmer, not because we like meetings.
What you get
- Real ownership. You are the social media decision-maker, not a coordinator. Your judgement is trusted.
- A flat, fast team. Direct access to the founder, weekly product and brand decisions you're in the room for.
- A competitive salary for Amritsar, generously benchmarked. Discussed openly in the first call.
- Meaningful equity. This is real ownership in a company with real customers and real revenue. We will explain the structure clearly and answer every question you have.
- Generous, flexible paid time off plus paid Indian holidays. We expect you to take real rest.
- Annual learning budget for courses, books, conferences, or anything that grows you.
- Working equipment — laptop, monitor, desk setup. We'll get you what you need.
- A monthly health stipend toward your health coverage.
- A small relocation stipend if you're moving for this role.
- A clear growth path. Strong performance moves you toward Head of Marketing or Head of Growth as we scale. We say this because it has happened to others on the team.
