Position Summary
The EDP Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, providing end-user support, ensuring system availability and security, and supporting ERP applications. The role requires a hands-on professional with strong technical expertise in infrastructure management, troubleshooting, and ERP support within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
A. Systems & Infrastructure Management
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, storage systems, network devices, endpoints, and cloud-based services.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, performance, and security of all hardware, software, and network systems.
- Monitor system health, backups, antivirus, and security controls to minimize downtime and operational risks.
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN connectivity, switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi networks, and internet services.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with company policies.
- Perform routine maintenance, software updates, patch management, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation of systems, networks, and configurations.
B. End-User Support
- Provide responsive, hands-on technical support to local users for hardware, software, printer, and network-related issues.
- Set up, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, biometric devices, and peripheral hardware.
- Support and maintain standard business applications including Microsoft 365 and related productivity tools.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues within defined service levels to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
- Conduct user training and awareness sessions on IT systems, applications, and cybersecurity best practices.
C. ERP & Application Support
- Assist in the support and maintenance of ERP systems and coordinate with vendors or internal teams for issue resolution and enhancements.
- Troubleshoot ERP-related issues and escalate complex problems as required to ensure timely resolution.
- Assist users with connection issues, access permissions, role-based security, and interface-related problems to ensure continuous ERP availability.
- Monitor ERP system performance and support day-to-day business operations across departments.
- Coordinate testing and deployment of ERP updates, patches, and process improvements.
- Maintain ERP user records, roles, permissions, and system documentation.
D. Information Security & Compliance
- Implement and monitor IT security policies, antivirus solutions, backup procedures, and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and data protection standards.
- Support disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives.
E. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with external vendors, service providers, and software partners for issue resolution and service delivery.
- Track IT service requests and ensure timely closure.
- Provide regular status updates and reports on infrastructure performance, incidents, and improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, or relevant ERP certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience Required
- 5–7 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, EDP Operations, System Administration, and ERP Support.
- Experience in Manufacturing, FMCG, Food Processing, or similar industries preferred.
- Hands-on experience supporting ERP applications and enterprise IT environments.
