Full job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Engineer with experience in the casting industry. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the manufacturing process, conducting inspections, maintaining quality records, analyzing defects, and implementing corrective actions to meet customer requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of cast components.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and engineering drawings.
Conduct dimensional inspections using measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, and other precision inspection tools.
Monitor foundry processes and identify quality issues during production.
Investigate casting defects and conduct root cause analysis.
Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to reduce rejection and rework.
Prepare and maintain quality documentation, inspection reports, and test records.
Coordinate with Production, NPD, and Maintenance teams to resolve quality-related issues.
Handle customer complaints and support customer audits.
Participate in internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and company quality procedures.
Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap data and recommend improvement measures.
Support PPAP documentation, process validation, and New Product Development (NPD) activities.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of casting processes and foundry operations.
Understanding of casting defects and quality control methodologies.
Knowledge of quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, CAPA, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, and Root Cause Analysis.
Hands-on experience with dimensional inspection and precision measuring instruments.
Familiarity with PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and quality documentation.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Educational Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred Experience

Experience in Sand Casting, Investment Casting, SG Iron Casting, CI Casting, or Steel Casting.
Exposure to foundry quality systems and customer quality requirements.
Experience in handling customer audits, quality documentation, and process improvement projects.

Experience

3–8 years of relevant experience in Quality Control within the casting or foundry industry.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
