Job Description: Sourcing Manager – (Underground Division)
The Sourcing Manager – Underground Division is reporting to Operations Manager of respective division (PC Nashik) and is part of the PC Nashik Division Management team and the PC Nashik Strategic Sourcing Management Team.
Epiroc has independent strategic sourcing department with Category management & Supplier development teams. As a Sourcing Manager for division, you will work on strategic sourcing initiatives for the division, develop strong partnerships with Strategic sourcing, division sourcing and operations team to improve cost, quality, and delivery performance. This role plays a critical part in enabling operational excellence and supporting our growth journey.
This position reports solid line to Divisional Operation Manager and dotted line to Strategic Sourcing head.
3. Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Divisional Sourcing Leadership
- Build Safety Always mindset - in everything we do.
- Act as the divisional sourcing contact point at PC Nashik.
- Coordinate sourcing needs with strategic sourcing and global teams.
- Ensure divisional sourcing projects are defined and executed.
- Work with Strategic Sourcing to secure suppliers, create sourcing savings, secure supplier performance, and support divisional projects and activities for localization, dual capabilities, product transfers, PK reduction, continuous improvement, and new product development.
- Prepare business proposal for new product transfer based on inputs from cross functional team & work for approvals.
- Business requirement & divisional road map prioritization
- Represent the Division needs in sourcing forums.
- PK Reduction, Sourcing Savings, NPD, localization, sustainability, growth
- Prioritize PK (Product Cost) reduction and sourcing saving initiatives through strategic sourcing & engineering.
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and risks in collaboration with Category Managers to optimize sourcing decisions
- VA/VE, CPI, and NPD activities.
- Coordinate for sourcing readiness for NPD/CPI projects.
- Participate in BOM review meetings & other cross functional forums to address sourcing needs
- Contribute to localization strategies (coordinate with div cross functional team, engineering, secure approvals)
- Catalyze initiatives like (not limited to) sub-assembly outsourcing and supplier development to secure the divisional growth at PC Nashik
- Support the PC’s sustainability roadmaps in line with Epiroc 2030 targets, specifically supplier CO2 reduction.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Sourcing, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance teams
- Supplier Relationship & Risk Management
- Monitor and improve supplier performance along with Strategic sourcing across quality, delivery, cost, and compliance metrics
- Escalate risks and mitigate disruptions.
- Conduct operational review meetings with supplier along with purchase & strategic sourcing to improve performance
- Ensure compliance with ethics, sustainability, and safety.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships
- Joint decision maker with strategic sourcing in supplier selection, Cost approvals
- Divisional Activity Management & Stakeholder Communication
- Facilitate divisional sourcing reviews.
- Division KPIs monitoring & reporting. Coordinate with cross functional team to improve performance
- Work with strategic sourcing on supplier capacity mapping to firm up MDP.
- Provide data‑driven reporting.
- Represent PC Nashik divisional sourcing in regional/global forums.
- Align regularly with local and global category managers and supplier development.
4. Experience Requirements
- 10–15 years in sourcing, procurement, category management, or supplier development.
- Strong understanding of costing, negotiation, and risk management.
- Experience in matrix/global sourcing environments.
- Familiarity with localization, supplier qualification, and NPD sourcing.
Strategic thinking and analytical mindset,6 sigma certifications will be added advantage
