Job Description of ORS (Oral Rehydration Salts) Pouch Machine Operator

As a Pouch Machine Operator, you play a crucial role in the Manufacturing/Production sector by ensuring the efficient operation of pouch packaging machinery. Your contribution directly impacts the company’s success by maintaining high-quality production standards and meeting output targets. This role is essential for streamlining the packaging process and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.

The Pouch Machine Operator is a key player in fostering team collaboration by coordinating with maintenance staff, quality control teams, and production supervisors to optimize production processes.
This position significantly contributes to the company’s goals by ensuring the smooth operation of pouch packaging machines, minimizing downtime, and maximizing productivity.
Keeping abreast of industry trends such as automation in packaging technology and sustainability initiatives is crucial for this role to drive continuous improvement and innovation in packaging processes.
Key stakeholders for a Pouch Machine Operator include production managers, quality assurance teams, maintenance technicians, and logistics personnel. This role holds a pivotal position in the manufacturing structure, directly impacting production efficiency.
Success in this role is measured by key performance indicators (KPIs) such as machine uptime, production output, waste reduction, and adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Pouch Machine Operator, your responsibilities include:

Project Planning and Execution: You are responsible for planning production schedules, coordinating material availability, and executing packaging projects efficiently to meet customer demands.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Addressing machine malfunctions, troubleshooting technical issues, and making quick decisions to ensure minimal downtime and maintain production flow.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Working closely with quality control, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure seamless production processes and timely delivery of products.
Leadership and Mentorship: Providing guidance to junior operators, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the production team.
Process Improvement and Innovation: Identifying opportunities for process optimization, implementing cost-saving measures, and suggesting innovative solutions to enhance packaging efficiency.
Technical or Customer-Facing Responsibilities: Performing machine setup, conducting quality checks, and addressing any customer-specific packaging requirements to ensure product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you need the following skills and qualifications:

Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating pouch packaging machines, knowledge of PLC systems, familiarity with automated packaging equipment, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and understanding of packaging materials.
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machine operation, packaging technology, or related field.
Experience Level: 2+ years of experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment, preferably in packaging or similar industry; knowledge of GMP and safety regulations.
Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to collaborate with team members.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of packaging standards, quality control processes, and compliance requirements in the manufacturing industry.

Preferred Qualifications

Additionally, the following qualifications would make a candidate stand out:

Experience in operating pouch machines in a food packaging or pharmaceutical industry.
Holding certifications in machine operation, safety training, or quality management.
