Job Description – Packing & Dispatch | AM / DM / Manager

Department: Packing & Dispatch

Location: Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh

Designation: Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager / Manager

Experience: 5–12 years, preferably in manufacturing industry

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Packing & Dispatch professional to manage end-to-end packing, finished goods handling, dispatch planning, documentation, and logistics coordination. The role will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate dispatches while maintaining product quality, safety, and inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day packing and dispatch operations for finished aluminium products.

- Plan and coordinate dispatches as per customer orders, delivery schedules, and production plans.

- Ensure proper packing of aluminium profiles as per product specifications and customer requirements.

- Supervise loading, unloading, material handling, stacking, and finished goods movement.

- Coordinate with Production, PPC, Quality, Stores, Sales, and Logistics teams for smooth dispatch operations.

- Verify finished goods, quantity, dimensions, identification, and packing condition before dispatch.

- Ensure proper preparation and verification of dispatch documents, including invoices, packing lists, delivery challans, and e-way bills.

- Coordinate with transporters for vehicle placement, loading schedules, and timely dispatch.

- Monitor vehicle loading to ensure safe and optimum utilization of transportation capacity.

- Maintain accurate dispatch, packing, stock, and MIS reports.

- Ensure FIFO and proper identification/traceability of finished goods wherever applicable.

- Control packing material consumption and maintain adequate availability of packing materials.

- Monitor and reduce packing damage, rejection, shortage, and dispatch-related customer complaints.

- Ensure compliance with 5S, safety standards, SOPs, and company policies.

- Lead and supervise packing and dispatch manpower, including contract workers.

- Allocate manpower and monitor productivity, attendance, discipline, and work performance.

- Identify process gaps and implement Kaizen / continuous improvement initiatives.

- Support internal and external audits by maintaining required records and documentation.

- Handle customer-specific packing and dispatch requirements effectively.

- Prepare and analyze daily/weekly/monthly dispatch MIS and operational reports.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of packing, dispatch, logistics, and finished goods management.

- Experience in aluminium extrusion/manufacturing will be preferred.

- Good knowledge of ERP/SAP and MS Excel.

- Strong manpower handling and team management skills.

- Good coordination and communication skills.

- Ability to work under production and dispatch deadlines.

- Knowledge of inventory control, documentation, and vehicle loading practices.

- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.

Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. / Graduate in relevant discipline.

Relevant experience in manufacturing, aluminium extrusion, metal, engineering, or similar industries preferred.
