Full job description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance activities of production machinery, utilities, and plant equipment in an FMCG manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will ensure maximum equipment uptime, improve operational efficiency, maintain safety standards, and lead a time of maintenance technicians to support uninterrupted production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance activities for production machines and utility equipment.
Monitor machine performance and ensure minimum downtime.
Troubleshoot, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
Ensure timely completion of breakdown maintenance activities.
Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and service reports.

Equipment & Utility Management

Supervise maintenance of production lines, conveyors, packaging machines, compressors, boilers, chillers, DG sets, and utility.
Ensure proper functioning of plant utilities and infrastructure.
Coordinate with vendors and service provides for equipment servicing and repairs.

Team management

Lead and supervise maintenance technicians and operators.
Allocate daily maintenance tasks and monitor performance.
Train team members on maintenance procedures and safety practices.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and SOPs.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Implement Lockout/ Tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
Support audits related to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Inventory & Cost Control

Monitor spare parts inventory and maintain optimum stock levels.
Raise purchase requisitions for required maintenance materials.
Control maintenance costs through effective planning and resource utilization

Continuous Improvement

Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Support TPM ( Total Productive Maintenance), Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen initiatives
Recommend process and equipment improvements to enhance productivity and reliability.

Required Qualifications

Diploma/ B.Tech / B.E. in mechanical Engineering or related field.
1-2 years of maintenance experience in FMCG, Food Processing , Beverage, Dairy Packaging, or Manufacturing Industry.
Experience in handling production and utility equipment maintenance.
