This Job Description outlines the role, responsibilities, qualifications, working conditions, and benefits for the position of Consultant – Pain Management / Regenerative Medicine at Regencare.
1. Nature of Appointment
1.1 This appointment is on a full-time, exclusive basis. You shall devote your entire professional time, skill, and attention to the services of the Hospital.
1.2 You shall not engage in any form of private practice, outside consultation, visiting consultancy, advisory role, teaching assignment, or commercial medical activity during the tenure of this appointment without the prior written approval of the Management.
1.3 This is a full-time job, and you shall be governed by the terms and conditions set out in this Appointment Letter, hospital policies, and applicable laws.
2. Place of Posting & Work Location
2.1 You shall work full-time with Regencare – Cochin and Calicut branches.
2.2 Your monthly work allocation shall ordinarily be as follows:
· Cochin – 22 days per month
· Calicut – 2 days per month
2.3 The Management reserves the right to alter your place of posting, travel schedule, or branch allocation based on organizational requirements.
3. Duties and Responsibilities
You shall perform your duties with due care, diligence, and professional competence, including but not limited to the following:
3.1 Clinical Responsibilities
· Conduct comprehensive outpatient and inpatient pain evaluations.
· Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, cancer-related, neuropathic, and musculoskeletal pain conditions.
· Formulate individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based medicine.
3.2 Interventional Pain Procedures
You shall perform interventional pain procedures including but not limited to:
· Epidural steroid injections
· Nerve root blocks
· Facet joint blocks
· Radiofrequency ablations
· Intrathecal pump implantation and management
· Spinal cord stimulation (where clinically applicable)
3.3 Documentation & Compliance
· Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in physical and electronic medical records.
· Ensure proper informed consent and medico-legal documentation.
3.4 Academic & Quality Responsibilities
· Participate in clinical audits, mortality and morbidity meetings.
· Contribute to NABH / JCI quality initiatives.
· Participate in and conduct Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
3.5 Ethical & Professional Obligations
· Strictly adhere to hospital SOPs, standard treatment guidelines, ethical medical practice, and statutory regulations.
4. Working Hours & On-Call Responsibilities
4.1 Normal working hours shall be 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 6 days per week, unless otherwise notified.
4.2 You shall participate in emergency and on-call duties as per departmental roster.
4.3 You may be required to work beyond normal hours depending on patient load, emergencies, or institutional needs, without additional claim except where specifically provided.
5. Compensation & Remuneration
5.1 Salary
· Basic Salary: ₹1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Only) per month
· Incentives: Performance- and case-based incentives as per hospital policy
5.2 Salary Disbursement
· Salary shall be credited to your designated bank account on or before the 5th of every month.
5.3 Statutory Deductions
Applicable deductions shall be made as per law, including:
· Income Tax (TDS)
· Professional Tax
5.4 Annual Increment
· Yearly salary increment shall be provided based on performance evaluation and hospital policy.
6. Benefits & Allowances
6.1 Transportation, accommodation, and food expenses shall be provided separately as per policy and actuals.
6.2 Festival Allowance will be provided.
6.3 Public Holidays: If required to work on public holidays, additional incentives per case shall be paid.
7. Training, CME & Conferences
7.1 Advanced training in regenerative medicine shall be sponsored by the Hospital to the extent of 50% of the course fee, once per year.
7.2 CME Sponsorship:
· 1 CME – Sponsored for the doctor along with family (National)
· 2 Conferences for the doctor alone:
o One National Conference
o One International Conference (Within 2 lakh of expense)
Sponsorship shall be subject to prior approval and institutional policy.
8. Leave & Holiday Policy
8.1 Monthly Leave:
· 4 leaves per month
8.2 Annual Leave:
· 12 days per year
· Unavailed annual leave shall be encashed at year-end
8.3 Sick Leave / Casual Leave:
· SL/CL shall not be carried forward unless specifically approved
8.4 All leave is subject to prior approval by the Medical Superintendent or authorized officer.
9. Probation & Confirmation
9.1 You shall be on probation for a period of [3 / 6] months from the date of joining.
9.2 Confirmation shall be subject to:
· Satisfactory clinical performance
· Ethical conduct
· Compliance with hospital policies
10. Confidentiality & Data Protection
10.1 You shall maintain strict confidentiality of:
· Patient information and medical records
· Hospital business, financial, and operational data
· Proprietary protocols and trade secrets
10.2 Any breach shall constitute serious misconduct.
11. Professional Conduct & Ethics
11.1 You shall comply with:
· National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines
· Hospital code of ethics
· Applicable medico-legal laws
11.2 You must maintain a valid medical registration throughout your tenure.
12. Indemnity & Professional Liability
12.1 You shall maintain professional indemnity insurance at your own cost.
12.2 The Hospital shall not be liable for negligence, misconduct, or malpractice attributable to you.
