Job Description – Shift Supervisor | QSR Industry

Job Title: Shift Supervisor
Industry: Quick Service Restaurant (QSR)
Job Type: On-site

About the Role

We are looking for a responsible and customer-focused Shift Supervisor to manage the smooth functioning of the QSR outlet during the assigned shift. The candidate will be responsible for team supervision, customer service, food quality, hygiene, inventory, billing, and ensuring operational SOPs are followed.

Key Responsibilities

Manage complete shift operations and ensure smooth functioning of the outlet.
Supervise, guide, and motivate team members to achieve daily operational targets.
Allocate staff duties and ensure adequate manpower during peak hours.
Ensure timely order preparation and delivery while maintaining service standards.
Monitor food quality, portion control, presentation, and product availability.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs, food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
Handle customer queries, complaints, and service issues professionally.
Monitor daily sales, order volumes, average order value, and other key operational metrics.
Operate and monitor POS/billing systems and ensure accurate transactions.
Handle cash as per company policies and complete shift closing procedures.
Monitor stock levels, coordinate replenishment, and ensure proper storage of food and packaging materials.
Control food wastage, product variance, and operational losses.
Conduct regular checks of kitchen, dining area, equipment, and overall outlet hygiene.
Ensure proper grooming, attendance, punctuality, and discipline of staff.
Train new employees on company SOPs, service standards, and operational procedures.
Coordinate effectively with the Kitchen, Delivery/Dispatch, and Management teams.
Prepare shift reports covering sales, wastage, stock, incidents, and manpower.
Ensure proper opening and closing procedures of the outlet.
Complete proper handover to the incoming shift.
Escalate operational issues, equipment breakdowns, and customer concerns to the Outlet Manager.
Support the Outlet Manager in achieving sales, customer satisfaction, and operational targets.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum qualification: 12th Pass / Graduate preferred.
1–3 years of experience in QSR, restaurant, café, food retail, or hospitality operations.
Experience in supervising a team in a high-volume QSR environment will be preferred.
Good knowledge of QSR operations, food safety, hygiene, and customer service.
Basic knowledge of POS systems, billing, inventory, and MS Excel.
Strong communication and team-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage peak-hour operations.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Strong problem-solving and customer-handling abilities.
