Job Summary
Supports the planning, design, procurement, and implementation of manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes to improve operational efficiency and meet business and product requirements. The role contributes to cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing processes meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Development
- Assist in planning, designing, and implementing manufacturing processes to ensure alignment with safety requirements, manufacturing targets, and product specifications.
- Apply manufacturing principles and practices to improve equipment performance, production efficiency, and process reliability.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of manufacturing standards, procedures, and working methods.
- Support the design and optimization of manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, and workflows.
Project Execution
- Support manufacturing engineering projects by assisting in the development and implementation of manufacturing systems and equipment.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to execute project assignments and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Contribute to high-impact manufacturing projects and initiatives aligned with business priorities.
Equipment & Capital Management
- Support capital expenditure planning and participate in equipment and tooling procurement activities.
- Assist in selecting manufacturing equipment that meets Cummins specifications and operational requirements.
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Apply continuous improvement tools and methodologies to improve manufacturing processes and reduce waste.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements related to cost, quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Utilize digital tools and manufacturing analysis techniques to simulate and optimize manufacturing processes.
Documentation & Standards
- Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure consistency and standardization of processes across stakeholders and manufacturing teams.
- Interpret product and manufacturing drawings to support production and process development.
Workplace & Ergonomic Design
- Support the design of safe, efficient, and ergonomic workstations and manufacturing environments.
- Implement ergonomic design principles to reduce workplace risk and enhance productivity.

Qualifications
Education, Licenses & Certifications
- College, university, or equivalent degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a related field is required.
- Additional certifications or training in manufacturing engineering or industrial processes are advantageous.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Skills and Experience
Experience
- Basic to moderate level of relevant work experience in manufacturing engineering or industrial operations.
- Experience supporting manufacturing process development, equipment implementation, or engineering projects.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments such as production lines, assembly operations, or remanufacturing processes.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical diagrams, and manufacturing specifications.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience using digital tools or software for manufacturing analysis and simulation is preferred.
- Understanding of tooling, fixture design, and workstation layout optimization.
Leadership & Collaboration Skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, supply chain, and quality teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities using structured methodologies.

Preferred Internal Experience
- Experience leading manufacturing engineering or project teams in remanufacturing or production environments.

- Experience supporting global project approvals and cross-regional collaboration.
