Job Summary:
We are looking for Assistant Manager – Quality Assurance, who will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance systems to ensure that manufactured tubes meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. The role involves driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing quality audits, handling customer complaints, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems. Candidates with prior experience in the packaging industry, particularly flexible packaging, laminates, aluminum tubes, plastic tubes, or related manufacturing sectors, will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance processes across all manufacturing stages.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001, GMP, and customer-specific requirements.
- Establish quality standards, inspection procedures, and testing protocols for raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Monitor product quality parameters and ensure adherence to specifications.
Process Control & Improvement
- Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, defects, and improvement opportunities.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
- Implement quality improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and SPC methodologies.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and R&D teams to improve process capability and product quality.
Customer & Supplier Quality
- Investigate customer complaints and ensure timely closure through effective corrective actions.
- Coordinate with customers regarding quality requirements, audits, and technical queries.
- Evaluate supplier quality performance and conduct supplier audits when required.
- Ensure incoming raw materials meet quality specifications.
Audits & Compliance
- Plan and conduct internal quality audits.
- Coordinate external audits by customers, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain documentation and records related to quality systems and compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
Team Management
- Lead and mentor quality inspectors, laboratory staff, and quality engineers.
- Conduct training programs on quality standards, inspection techniques, and quality awareness.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Testing & Laboratory Management
- Supervise quality testing of tubes and packaging materials.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
- Review test reports and approve quality documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer, Industrial, Production) or related field.
- Additional certifications in Quality Management, Six Sigma, Lead Auditor, or Quality Engineering will be an advantage.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control within the Tube Manufacturing Industry.
- Experience in Packaging Industry is highly preferred, including flexible packaging, laminates, plastic packaging, aluminum tubes, rigid packaging, or related sectors.
- Experience handling customer audits, quality systems, and process improvement initiatives.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, CAPA, SPC, FMEA, MSA, and Root Cause Analysis tools.
- Understanding of packaging materials, tube manufacturing processes, printing, lamination, extrusion, and conversion processes.
- Proficiency in quality testing instruments and laboratory practices.
- Good knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office applications.
