JOB DESCRIPTION

Designation: Executive — Indirect Taxation & GST

Department: Indirect Tax

Reporting To: Manager — Indirect Taxation

Location: New Delhi

Employment Type: Full-Time

ROLE SUMMARY

The Executive — Indirect Taxation & GST will be responsible for managing end-to-end GST compliance for a portfolio of clients. The role demands a thorough knowledge of GST law, accuracy in return filing and reconciliation, strict adherence to statutory and internal deadlines, and the ability to handle confidential client correspondence with professionalism and discretion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. GST Compliance & Return Filing

▸ Preparation and timely filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C for assigned clients

▸ Management of monthly, quarterly, and annual GST compliance calendars

▸ Reconciliation of GST data across books of accounts, purchase registers, and portal records

2. Refund Management

▸ Preparation and filing of GST refund applications including export refunds, inverted duty structure, and excess payment claims

▸ Liaising with the department and tracking refund status to ensure timely processing

3. Portal & Law

▸ Maintaining accurate records and filings on the GST Portal

▸ Applying and interpreting provisions under the CGST Act, IGST Act, and relevant State GST legislation

▸ Keeping updated on amendments, circulars, and notifications issued by the GST Council

4. Deadline & Record Management

▸ Ensuring strict compliance with all internal and statutory deadlines

▸ Maintaining organised and confidential records for all clients and organisational correspondence

5. Client Communication

▸ Handling confidential correspondence with clients in a professional and timely manner

▸ Providing accurate and well-reasoned responses to client queries on GST matters

6. Outstation Engagements

▸ Willingness to travel outstation for client assignments, audits, or departmental hearings as required

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Technical Skills

▸ Strong knowledge of GSTR-9 & GSTR-9C preparation and filing

▸ Sound understanding of monthly GST compliance processes

▸ Proficiency in operating the GST Portal

▸ In-depth knowledge of CGST / IGST / SGST Act provisions

▸ Hands-on experience in GST refund filing and processing

▸ Advanced proficiency in MS Excel: VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, data validation, and reconciliation

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

▸ Qualification: CA

▸ Experience: 1 to 2 years in Indirect Taxation / GST compliance

▸ Prior experience in a CA firm or professional services environment preferred

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
