Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Sales Manager / Senior Business Development Manager – Government Sales to be based in Chandigarh. The candidate will be responsible for driving government business across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, and other North Indian territories.

The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in Government IT sales, GeM Portal, tendering, PSU engagement, and relationship management with government officials. The role requires independently identifying opportunities, generating new business, managing key government accounts, and achieving regional sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and expand government business across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, and surrounding regions.
Generate new business opportunities from:
Central Government Departments
State Government Departments
Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)
Autonomous Bodies
Boards & Corporations
Smart City Projects
Educational Institutions
Drive business through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Portal, including:
Bid participation
BOQ preparation
QCBS bidding
Reverse Auctions
Direct Purchase
Order processing and execution coordination
Identify upcoming government projects by monitoring procurement plans, budget allocations, tenders, and RFPs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, procurement authorities, consultants, and decision-makers.
Liaise with PSUs, Nodal Agencies, and System Integrators for empanelment and collaborative business opportunities.
Coordinate with the technical and pre-sales teams for solution presentations, demonstrations, proposals, and tender submissions.
Assist customers in preparing RFPs, RFQs, EOIs, and technical specifications aligned with company offerings.
Lead the complete bid management process, including pricing strategy, compliance, documentation, and commercial negotiations.
Ensure timely execution of awarded projects by coordinating with internal delivery and project management teams.
Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
Conduct regular customer meetings, market visits, and government department interactions across the assigned territory.
Provide weekly sales reports, opportunity updates, competitor analysis, and business forecasts to the management.
Represent the company at government events, exhibitions, conferences, and industry networking forums.
Travel extensively within the assigned region as required.

Qualifications

MBA (Sales & Marketing) and/or Engineering Degree from a recognized university.
5–8 years of overall experience in IT Sales or Business Development.
Minimum 4–5 years of experience in Government/PSU Sales.

Strong experience in Government e-Marketplace (GeM).
Experience working with Central and State Government departments.
Proven experience in Government Tendering and Bid Management.
Experience in QCBS, L1, Reverse Auction, Open and Limited Tenders.
Knowledge of procurement guidelines and government budgeting processes.
Experience working with PSUs, Nodal Agencies, and System Integrators.
Proven record of achieving government sales targets and closing high-value deals.
Experience in account management and repeat business generation.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Currently based in Chandigarh and willing to report to our Noida office once in a week.
Strong network across Government Departments, PSUs, and Nodal Agencies in North India.
Familiarity with Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Jammu & Kashmir government ecosystems.
Self-driven with the ability to independently generate business and manage key government accounts.
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned region.

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
