Position Summary
The Legal Executive shall be a qualified Advocate responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating all legal, regulatory, compliance, litigation, contractual, and advisory matters of the Group, including its Medical College, University, Colleges, Schools, Hospitals, Trust, and all affiliated institutions and entities. The incumbent will act as the principal legal resource for the organization and ensure protection of the Group's legal interests while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university; LL.M. preferred.
- Enrollment with the Bar Council and valid license to practice as an Advocate.
- Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in handling legal matters for educational institutions, universities, trusts, healthcare institutions, or corporate organizations.
- Proven experience in litigation management, legal drafting, and regulatory compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesLitigation Management
- Handle and oversee all litigation, disputes, legal proceedings, and court matters relating to the Group and its constituent institutions.
- Coordinate with external counsels, advocates, and legal consultants for effective representation before courts, tribunals, statutory authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor case progress, court hearings, legal notices, orders, and compliance requirements.
- Develop legal strategies to safeguard the interests of the Group.
Legal Advisory
- Provide legal opinions and strategic advice to the Management, Trustees, University, Medical College, Colleges, Schools, and other institutional units.
- Identify legal risks and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
- Support management in policy formulation and legal decision-making.
Contracts and Documentation
- Draft, review, vet, negotiate, and manage all types of agreements, contracts, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), service agreements, lease deeds, vendor agreements, and other legal documents.
- Prepare and review legal notices, replies, affidavits, petitions, undertakings, and related documentation.
- Ensure legal adequacy and enforceability of all organizational documents.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and statutory requirements governing educational institutions, universities, medical colleges, hospitals, trusts, and related entities.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, government departments, accreditation agencies, and statutory bodies.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise management on their implications.
Trust and Institutional Legal Affairs
- Handle all legal matters relating to the Trust, including governance, administration, registrations, amendments, and statutory compliance.
- Advise on matters related to educational regulations, trust laws, service matters, governance issues, and institutional policies.
- Support institutional leadership in resolving legal and regulatory challenges.
Property and Land Matters
- Examine title documents, property records, leases, conveyances, and land-related legal documents.
- Handle legal issues concerning land acquisition, registration, property disputes, encumbrances, and institutional assets.
- Coordinate with revenue authorities and legal agencies on property-related matters.
Employment and Service Matters
- Advise on employment laws, disciplinary proceedings, service matters, and labor law compliance.
- Assist Human Resources in handling employee disputes, inquiries, and legal proceedings.
Legal Compliance and Risk Management
- Develop and implement legal compliance frameworks across all Group institutions.
- Maintain legal records, case databases, and statutory documentation.
- Conduct legal audits and risk assessments to minimize organizational exposure.
Required Competencies
- Strong knowledge of civil, criminal, corporate, educational, trust, labor, and regulatory laws.
- Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Strong litigation management and case-handling capabilities.
- Ability to independently manage multiple legal matters across diverse institutions.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
Preferred Experience
Experience in handling legal matters related to:
- Universities and Higher Education Institutions.
- Medical Colleges and Healthcare Establishments.
- Schools and Educational Trusts.
- Charitable Trusts, Societies, and Non-Profit Organizations.
- Government and Regulatory Authorities.
Key Requirement
The candidate must be a qualified Advocate capable of independently managing and overseeing all legal affairs of the Group, including the Medical College, University, Colleges, Schools, Hospitals, Trust, and all affiliated entities, while ensuring full legal compliance, effective litigation management, and protection of the organization's interests.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
