Full job description

UK Accountant

Location: Surat, Gujarat
Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹50,000 per month
Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹50,000 per month (depending on experience)
Location: Surat, Gujarat (Work From Office)

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented UK Accountant with experience in UK accounting, bookkeeping, VAT, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with UK clients and a strong understanding of HMRC compliance, VAT regulations, payroll, and year-end accounts. Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities for UK clients.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records.
Perform bank, supplier, and account reconciliations.
Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
Assist with payroll processing and related compliance requirements.
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Support the preparation of year-end accounts and tax computations.
Handle accounts payable and receivable functions.
Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and regulations.
Coordinate with clients to resolve accounting queries and provide financial information.
Work with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and MS Excel.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
1–4 years of experience in UK Accounting.
Good understanding of UK bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and taxation.
Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and MS Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and client-handling abilities.
ACCA/ACA/CIMA (Qualified, Part-Qualified, or Pursuing) will be an added advantage.

Preferred Experience

Experience working with UK accounting firms or UK-based clients.
Knowledge of HMRC compliance and Making Tax Digital (MTD).
Exposure to finalization of accounts and management reporting.
