COUNSELLOR & COUNSELLING:
Front Office is the most important section of your centre premises. The student gathers his/her first impression about the institute here and it is up to the counselor to lay the first brick carefully at the foundation stage, in order to put the student on the rightly erected track.
(A) Qualifications:
- Should be a graduate in any discipline preferably a Science graduate with pleasing personality and have good communication & presentation skills.
- Must have a strong command over English/Local languages
- Knowledge of different engineering and medical institutes and the various competitive examinations catering to them like IIT–JEE, SLEEE and Medical Entrance Examinations is desirable.
- Basic awareness of different aspects of the coaching industry and the local competition is expected.
- Candidates having at least one-year experience in a similar profile would be preferred
(B) Duties:
· Acquire thorough knowledge and understanding of available courses, admission policies and other rules and regulations of the company
· Handle enquiries, reception duties and attend to phone calls.
· Shall maintain records of the enquiry generation, conversion rates etc. in specified formats and report to appropriate authority as and when required
· Distribute admission forms / information brochures.
· Coordinate with the admission coordinator and the admission section.
· Coordinate in fee deposition/ refund process.
· Shall make a close rapport with the principals/students of prestigious /good schools to organize career counseling seminars/sample classes etc.
· Shall arrange seminars at the centre/other suitable places, for career guidance to the students in coordination with the centre manager and the admission coordinator.
· Shall create a students’ database in order to interact with them through periodic mailers and updated information of various courses.
· Shall carry out any other task as may be assigned to him/her from time to time
(C) Attributes of a good counselor
· Should maintain a cool composure all the while
· Comfort the students and visitors by offering them proper seat.
· Should be able to identify the student’s need and guide him/her accordingly.
· Maintain an order at the counseling table/room.
· Not to talk ill of other institutes nor engage in any kind of argument related to their results etc.
· Project the positive image of Career Point in and outside the centre.
· Should be able to provide correct information about the courses.
· The counselor should always highlight strong points of the institute and convert the competitor’s weak points tactfully to the advantage of the institute.
· Should be able to talk effectively about Career Point’s past results, unique positive features like its teaching methodology, study material etc.
Frequently asked questions to the counselors include information about the faculty members, daily schedule of classes, course duration, nature of association of the centre with Career Point, Kota, past performance, details of the course and information related to admission and fee refund procedures etc. The counselor must be well trained to handle similar questions and in the event he/she finds it difficult to answer, the affiliate may seek support/ guidance and/or relevant training facilities from the Head Office.
