Job Summary
We are looking for a mature, experienced and result-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead and coordinate our Field Sales and Telecalling Teams across Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in sales team management, business development, target achievement, MIS reporting, management presentations and telecalling operations.
The candidate should be a strong team leader with excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to drive the team towards achieving business targets through continuous follow-up, motivation, monitoring and performance management.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Team Management
- Lead and coordinate the Field Sales Teams across Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
- Set clear sales objectives and ensure achievement of assigned business targets.
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales performance of the field team.
- Review individual and team performance against targets.
- Identify performance gaps and take timely corrective action.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews and sales briefings.
- Motivate the team and create a strong target-oriented sales culture.
- Ensure proper territory/market coverage and effective deployment of the field sales team.
- Coordinate with Team Leaders / Sales Officers and ensure proper execution of sales plans.
- Support the team in resolving field-level challenges and customer/business issues.
- Ensure effective follow-up of leads and conversion opportunities.
Telecalling Team Management
- Manage and supervise the Telecalling Team and ensure effective utilization of leads.
- Set daily, weekly and monthly calling and conversion targets.
- Monitor telecalling productivity, lead follow-up and conversion performance.
- Review call reports and ensure proper follow-up of prospective customers.
- Guide and motivate telecallers to improve conversion and productivity.
- Identify underperforming team members and take appropriate performance-improvement measures.
- Coordinate Telecalling and Field Sales Teams to ensure proper lead transfer and follow-up.
- Ensure proper updating of customer/lead information and sales status.
Business Development
- Develop and implement business-development strategies to achieve organizational targets.
- Identify new business opportunities, markets, customer segments and potential partnerships.
- Support the expansion of business activities across Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
- Develop effective sales plans and action plans for achieving monthly and annual targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, business partners and stakeholders.
- Support promotional campaigns, events and business-development initiatives.
MIS, Reports & Management Presentation
- Prepare accurate and professional daily, weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Prepare MIS covering sales performance, target achievement, lead generation, conversion, team productivity and other relevant business parameters.
- Analyse sales data and identify trends, gaps and improvement areas.
- Prepare professional presentations for Management / Senior Management.
- Present sales performance, business updates, challenges, action plans and future projections to management.
- Ensure all reports and presentations are accurate, timely and supported by relevant data.
- Maintain proper records of team performance and business-development activities.
Leadership & Team Performance
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the Sales and Telecalling Teams.
- Build a disciplined, accountable and performance-oriented team culture.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Coach team members to improve their sales and communication skills.
- Ensure effective teamwork and coordination between Field Sales, Telecalling and other departments.
- Take ownership of team performance and ensure achievement of assigned targets.
- Follow up continuously with team members regarding pending activities and target achievement.
- Handle team-level issues maturely and professionally.
Qualification Required
- Graduate in any discipline.
- MBA / PG Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or related field will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and reporting/MIS tools is essential.
Experience Required
- 7–12 years of relevant experience in Business Development / Sales / Team Management.
- Strong experience in managing field sales teams across multiple locations.
- Experience coordinating sales teams across Kerala and Tamil Nadu will be highly preferred.
- Proven experience in managing Telecalling / Inside Sales Teams.
- Strong experience in preparing MIS reports and Management Presentations.
- Candidates with experience in Tourism, Hospitality, Amusement Parks, Resorts, Travel, Retail or related industries will be preferred.
