Qualification: B.Com/M.Com/MBA in Finance Experience: 6 - 8 years

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations for our IT startup. The ideal candidate will handle bookkeeping, invoicing, vendor management, and compliance activities while supporting management in financial planning and reporting.

This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, startup agility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate records of day-to-day financial transactions (sales, purchases, payments, receipts, etc.).
Post and process journal entries to ensure all transactions are recorded properly.
Manage accounts payable and receivable and reconcile bank statements.
Prepare vendor and client reconciliations on a monthly basis
Invoicing & Collections
Prepare customer invoices as per contracts and ensure timely dispatch.
Track and follow up on payment collections with clients.
Maintain aging reports and escalate overdue payments.
Taxation & Compliance
Handle GST, TDS, and other statutory filings (monthly/quarterly/annual).
Coordinate with external auditors and consultants for ITR filing, audits, and compliance requirements.
Ensure compliance with local accounting and company regulations.
Payroll & Employee Reimbursements
Coordinate with HR for monthly payroll processing, including deductions and benefits.
Manage employee reimbursement claims and maintain related records.
Financial Reporting & Budgeting
Prepare monthly financial statements, cash flow reports, and expense summaries.
Support management in budget preparation, variance analysis, and cost optimization.
Provide inputs for management MIS reports and business dashboards.
Startup Support Activities
Set up and streamline accounting systems/processes suitable for a growing IT startup.
Liaise with banks, auditors, vendors, and clients for smooth financial operations.
Assist management in implementing accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Tally) or ERP integration.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
5 years of experience in accounting (startup or IT/Tech industry preferred).
Working knowledge of Tally / QuickBooks / Zoho Books / ERP systems.
Good understanding of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
Strong proficiency in MS Excel and analytical skills.
Attention to detail, integrity, and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Preferred:

Experience working in an IT services or software product company.
Exposure to international invoicing and multi-currency accounting.
